Weird interpretation... I usually like van Gennip's playing but this one is really odd. Can't exactly say what I dislike about it ... it's not as fluent as it should be. It simply doesn't sound like Chopin.

how excentric... It's really different compared to other pianist, that makes him special. I wouldn't play it like he does, but its nice to hear him because of his excentrism to my opinion..

Redelijk gespeeld. Ik had werkelijk kromme tenen op sommige stukken, zo beroerd. Niks voor mij, de manier waarop Serge speelt. Vooral nét voor het "supersnelle" gedeelte, daar ging hij de mist in door noten ineens staccato te spelen! Ik heb letterlijk "NEEEEEEEE!" geroepen, zo erg. De manier waarop hij sommige noten articuleert zegmaar kan ik niet helemaal plaatsen. Het kwam op mij vreemd over... Maar wel goed genoeg voor een avondje YouTuben :P

I definitely support and encourage people to be creative, free, and expressive when performing. However, this performance is very controversial (not in a Horowitz way, either). I do appreciate the technique displayed, but disagree completely and validly (is that a word?) with this performance.  Sorry!

Nice sound and great technique, but you tend to distort a lot of Chopin's rhythms. It is often the case that playing exactly the rhythm that the composer wrote sounds more "mature" and more "professional." Keep up the good work.
