alright, I'll spell out what happened for you, because you seem to be quite misinformed. Hans Blix has stated that he had no significant reason based on the evidence he received to think Iraq had WMDs. He requested more time to continue his operations searching for WMDs, but at that point president Bush was already giving war speeches, putting Iraq into the "Axis of Evil", and telling everyone how Iraq was a threat to the free world.
He also works for the UN as a Nuclear weapons inspector. He repeatedly went before the security council and reported that Iraq has stopped its nuclear programs. He oversaw the dismantling of the weapons facilities in Iraq. He was also completely ignored by the U.S
"It's very instructive to compare Iran to North Korea" I doubt it for the sole reason that Iran and North Korea are very different countries. Iran wants a nuclear bomb because it wants to be equal, not because it fears the attacks from outside or inside. And also, Iran is not as isolated or lonely as North Korea, which is probably the reason why President Bush is pushing for a third round UN sanction on Iran.
In my opinion, Hans Blix is one of the giants of nuclear "commentary" today.
