  • when the apocalypse comes it will be the youtube insomniacs with all the knowledge to rebuild civilization.

  • Why cant we do this in the USA??

  • @hotchicksandpuppies Because the workers here have the nerve to ask for a living wage.

  • @hotchicksandpuppies Globalisation backfired. It was meant to increase market volume for occidental products..but the reverse happened.

  • just the info I needed..TY

  • really enjoyed it--thanks

  • I have no idea how I got here.

  • @Jebus495 Me too, but this IS pretty cool.

  • Man this isn't tube making. I used to work for british steel Clydesdale work and made Steel pipes of offshore used seamless tubes. This meant taking a large billet of steel and heating it up, driving a 1000tonne press plunger down the middle of it and then rolling the billet along a internal bar using the pilger process.

These tubes were incredibly strong and sought after for the offshore pipeline drilling.

  • @Ecle888015

How well did the job pay if not secret? What did you like/dislike about it? Im about to get a similar job.

  • @gregkarb I was a trainee metallurgist, so the pay wasnt great, but when trained, it would pay very well.

I liked the fact that I was making something, I like the black humour in the foundry and liked the responsibility. I can honestly say there was nothing much i didnt like, except the heavy molten metal gear in summer.

  • really useful thanx

  • thanks, needed this for school =p

  • Very useful!!
