wow. I have a copied beat up copy of this series. I STILL watch it. I think one of the best series ever made. Thx for putting it up. it does remind me of my childhood
Thanks fot putting this on I used live near a Tornado base and used to watch them scramble to stop Russian planes, brings back happy memories of being a kid and also a tear to my eye
I know that the Tornado song is Tsaikowksy's dance of the Mirlitons, but this one seems to be a distictive version... I am looking for it since I was a teenager, because I loved that scene! Anybody has it??
Indeed one of the greatest aviation-doc's of all time. I think the song, played during the Tornado-scene, is an excerpt of Der Nussknacker op. 71a, Danse des Mirilitons, by Tschaikowsky.
Regarding the full version of the chapter "Fighters": do you know which music is played during the F-16 opening scenes (airbase-scenes and flying-scenes while the fighter-pilot's poem is read) and which music is played during the X-29 scene?
I must have watched this a trillion times when I was a kid. Nostalgia!
Thanks! All orchestra pieces were adapted from classical pieces like Tschaikowsky. But the non-orchestra pieces like the F-16 and X-29 scenes (often recorded with synthesizer and electric guitar) were composed by the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop.
Some of the music was composed by Graham de Wilde. The Tornado music is on "Clasical Fusion 2" which also has the aerobatics music from one of the other clips. I too would love to know what the F16 music is!
I bought Graham de Wilde's "Classical Fusion 1/2" CD... with supposedly all songs on them. Yet could not find the song I was looking for. Would you be able to give me the title of the song?
thanx mann!!!

The end song is a variation of the theme song at the beginning. You'll find the name in the Wikipedia article for 'Reaching for the Skies'.

Was composed by Graham de Wilde. The Tornado music is on "Clasical Fusion 2" CD (rather rare!)
