Interesting, I'd be interested to find out how you worked out the shading for each char. There are tools available online which apply this effect to a still image, I assume you somehow transferred the underlying functionality of these apps and applied it to a moving image by updating an equal number of times to the FPS of your webcam? That's how I would go about it anyway
