I think the conspiracy story is interesting, but have to agree that he probably did kill himself. Kurt had a history of suicide attempts and ODing on drugs. Plus the gun he shot himself with he had purchased not too long before from a pawn shop. It shouldn't surprise anyone that this guy may have been suicidal. He was so troubled and fucked up.
