Well... I spent £100 on my CBT... Rode around for two years... Then sat and passed my test for an additional £60... £40 for theory.

That was back when the test was just done in the one day though

sorry to say it mate but if your getting a gsx-R 1000 as your first bike, you are 70% going to wreck in the first month. ive been riding for nearly 7 years off road and 3 months on road, and i started on a 125.

adding to that your insurance will be though the roof.

good man, bit smarter :) i wrecked a 125 on he 13th, so remeber ya can wreck on anything. got a wirtten of bike and a broken wrist (hence spelling) just watch everyong, i had a truck pull out on me.... so think that everyone is out to kill ya and hopefully you will be good... just remeber that most riders go down at least once, nah im wiltshire not warwickshire.

sound man, yeah my uncles lost his knee cap, people try putting me off, but you know what man, fuck it. I couldnet miss that sunset ride for the world. My uncle said exsactley the same thing "ride as tho everyone is gonna kill you" I drive already so you kinda have that awarness built in after being on the roads abit but its even more for a bike hey! make sure you do the life saver checks and all that. What bike did you have, lucky you got away with a brocken rist.

with absolutely no experience at all i passd my test when i was 21 and bought a full power SV650S... within weeks i wanted a tl1000!

insurance wasn't bad at all £333 tpft

i'd rather walk than waste my time on a 125!

thing is, i pretty sure i could take you out on a twistie road with me on a yzf125 AND you on a tl1000, liter bikes are bloody useless when it comes to corners.

but fair enough each to his own.

no offence meant at all but there is just no need for anything less than an SV as a first bike: cheap running costs, insurance and not too dangerous!

why anyone would buy a bandit or similiar is beyond me!!

btw, i never bought the tl, ended up buyin another SV cos they're that good- see my homepage wallpaper :)

oh, and my SV handles like a wasp so sorry you won't get me there and defo not on the straights or brakes either lol

never liked it bak in '99, lad who lives near me had blue 1 but i wasnt keen.

4yrs later i just had to have one cos nothin comes close for fun without havin to spend significantly more ££.££!!!

it's defo a grower though i'm not keen on the newer angular 2003+ model :(

i honestly think that after a proper scrub it looks as good as a 996 from the right angles- contraversal i know but looks are subjective!

borrowed a 185bhp b-king from my dealer the other day while my little sv650s k2 was having some work done after i'd abused it with bonkers mad riddin' hehe

the b-king is awesome... i wazzed the absolute t1ts off of it and did 160mph which is the fastest i've ever been!

next i want to borrow a gsx r1000... hmmm!

how fast can i get out of that thing? more than 160 for sure
