I just want to let anyone know who wonders why there isn't any snow here is beacause this was done in one day. I took eight hours and Hubbard Broadcasting to finish it up and put it together. Also, anyone who thinks that their lying, feel free to take the time to look it all up, or you could just shut up about any mean things you have to say about MN unless you live here and even then. ROCK ON MINNESOTA!!! DON'T LET NEGATIVE PEOPLE GET YOU DOWN!!!
The nightlife and diversity are lacking here big time. Great place to raise a family and go to bed every night at 8 p.m. Great outdoors stuff here but that only goes so far. I love Minnesota but it's missing quite a bit compared to real international cities. Sorry its just not interesting here.
They left out the best part...COLD AND SNOW... it's the reason I live here a and love it here. For all the winter haters in Minnesota... SHUT UP AND MOVE!
Did someone actually pay money to have this video produced? Uf da! Opening shot of a corn field? There's a great way to get anyone outside the state excited about us.....To quote Bruce Willis - Is this the best we can do? Hubbard Broadcasting, and they are in the business - this is embarrassing. With all the technology available, a video representing our city should blow you away from the opening picture. This video is a perfect example of why our image is what it is.
I thought it was awesome, yet agree there is much more to Mn than can be summed up in a short film. The divresity, weather in general, our fall leaves, cabin life, inner city, sports for all ages not just professional, healthcare system, collaborative efforts... much of this is what we all take for granted living here. Reviewing the film allows us not only to be a critic, but also opens our eyes to appreciate the things important to each of us that Minnesota offers... Thank you
@MengSeeMengDo I grew up in Minneapolis and didn't know any better. I now live in San Diego and, therefore, I don't suffer the cold weather or the snow! I'm happy with the tradeoff.
Come on 4.42 minutes of tape and 3 seconds on theaters and a picture of the Guthrie. Why do you think MSP can gain all the businesses, education, and civic engagement. It's because of the Arts. Large, small, independent, for profit, non profit, and all the artists innovate, create, and build the community. Come on...3 seconds on the Arts...Shame
I lived in MSP for many years. I went to school at the U, "the #9 research institution in the world." While the video is stunning with it's aerial effects and increasingly energetic orchestral soundtrack, it lacks the true value and real MSP that I know from living in several neighborhoods over 14 years. Not everybody lives in gigantic homes (with pools) on Lake Minnetonka. There is snow. Be proud of it and show the awesome cross country events. This video lacks originality and tries too hard.
Yes they didn't show snow. But you know what, when I tell people where I am from, that is ALL I get questions about, is snow, cold, and winter. It's nice to have a video that shows that there is more to Minnesota than that.
@misstwenty3 yeah except that if you dont show snow then people are going to notice it and talk about.... snow. it's a great part of the twin cities life so if you dont show it something seems strange. as if there's something to hide.
@m1k3l1n00 People already talk about snow every time they hear MN. This is what people DONT always talk about.... stating the obvious is usually what u don't need to say
This video is surprisingly boring. It lacks originality and content. I don't see it having much value to anyone but locals who already know about the landmarks already.
Very good promo video. But, as all promo videos go it does focus only on the positive, and understandably so. As Homelessryank notes: NO SNOW or winter shots are included. That is either a big plus or a big negative for someone considering relocation here. From a historical standpoint, Minneapolis gets a solid "F". The city council and those in power have, to this day, still not grasped wht it takes to truly create a repleate and lasting society. I.E: The original Guthrie Theatre. Very sad.
Ir's not totally being honest and authentic without embracing our winters. Should be shots of ice skating on frozen lakes, cross country skiing and people embracing the winter.
@xhammy17x You certainly should. It's a gem in all months besides January or Feb, in my opinion. And even those months bring a certain cozy charm that we all share together.
I'm from Minneapolis. I love Minneapolis. I will always represent Minneapolis.
But we must be honest.
Not a single shot of this entire video showed cold or snow... We definitely... Definitely... Have snow... Like, kind of a lot of it... Like six months of pure freezing cold...
That's like making a movie about Hawaii and not showing the beach... I'm just saying...

Lies. MN is a backward cold state with nothing to do but drink. They should show all the drunk rednecks instead of these glorified shots. MN sucks.
