  • Please listen to Madurai Somu's rendition of this song. You need to speak and sing in Tamil like a Tamil Goddess , not just dress and adorn jewellery like one. And do not neigh like a horse and feign briga, you are not fooling anyone

  • what a great singer

    sier skjer i drømmen

  • The rendering is good but the actions seems to be more westernised.

  • am a big fan of Aruna Sairam - this song and muthai thiru song are really great.

  • Cant have enough of this song. Heard it million times and shall hear it another million times. This and 'Kanthamam' song bu Aruna is pure ecstacy.

  • Until I hear it I thought shanmughapriya is the best for murugan songs,,Now i dont know how many times I enjoyed it ....

  • hindolam makes my heart pain and cry:( this raagam doesnt suit murugan songs i feel. only good for shivan.

  • as a matter of curiosity i would like to know how u are saying this ?

  • one reason could be that , i got used to hearing most hindolam songs sung in the name of shivan, be it in films or carnatic.....so got that stereo type i guess.

but mood this song creates makes me think of Shivan even though i am a deep fan of murugan.

  • It really does'nt matter as to whom it is sung in praise of. Ultimately it is the Bhakti and Commitment that count.

  • @divineSakhi .. no it will siut for .. every karuna rasam .. its really suit for murugam ..

  • I feel like listening to it again and again..

  • I dont know tamil, but with what perfection she rendered!....truly delightful!!!

  • thiruveragach chaminatha ... its the continuity and thts why she says 'chaminatha' ...

  • wat a foolish criticism by Rajasekaran134,u thnk she cnt pronounce Swaminatha?,if yu din kno in "pure tamil" there is no 'sa' but only "cha" whn its in de beginnin of a word!the letter'sa'is derived from the north and this song was composd by a pure tamilian, get sum lite into ur brains bloke!& regardin'kalpana swara' its such a bliss to listen to this piece&whn u re under the magic of a raga the 'note'u touch only matters&not how u pronounceit!& wht do u actually mean by sayin 'disgrace'? gosh!

  • it is "thiruparam kundra vela" (kondra??? what did he kill??!!) thanks for the video!

  • Well he did kill, didn't he? What was Surasamharam all about?

  • ha ha! u are right....but that was not what i meant....i was drawing attention to the mispelt title of the song....thiruparam kundra vela is correct...meaning "man of thiruparam hills"

  • Thanks. Updated.

  • I know nothing about this kind of music (just an old greybeard in America) but this is incredible... so much feeling to this music and this singer is clearly possessed by her God. Really great, can't get enough...

  • That this music touches "an American greybeard", it warms my heart! <3

  • Watch out at 0.29 to 0.35 seconds , it's swaminadha and not " Chaminadha " ,she clearly spells out the swaras at 5.43 to 5.55 as " Sappa Samosa " , it's completely a disgrace to the ragaa " Hindolam " and for this kind of singing ,we are ready to give this much recognition........ " Shame on Us "

  • Well she sang Arunagiri Naadhar's Muthai tharu Bhakti without mispronunciations, which is a feat in itself, given the tempo. So let's give it the recognition it deserves.

  • Perffect singer! 7 minutes of happines and joy and face smile! Thank's

  • what came first: hindolam or malkauns?

  • it's the same

  • Nice sync ... :(

  • divine music ,thanks

  • Vid H.N.Bhaskar's accompaniment is outstanding..

  • Great musicianship. I have an old and treasured recording by Aruna Sayeeram. This IS the same person is she not? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Wonderful to see this carnaticopia.

  • The panditya in music adds immensely to the already present immense Bhakti Bhava of Shrimati Aruna

  • 7 minutes of awesomeness. 2 of those minutes is simply mesmerising when she takes off on the karpana swaras.

  • Nice to hear a beautiful Karnataka music that starts with UgaaBogha, originally introduced by Karnataka Sangeetha Pitamaha Sri Purandara Daasar. UgaaBogha makes music rendering more divine and touchy than alapana.

  • made the hair at the back of my neck stand up...god, she's amazing

  • stunning

  • Spellbinding...Aruna Sairams weaves a beautiful tapestry of Hindolam..

  • Divine.
