i personally, am against the idea of any type of prosletyzing in Israel. Now that i've made that clear, i still find that Israeli society not only has the threat within and without from Arabs but also from its own population. I also find the "gay" movement expression in the country absolutely shocking in its bold vileness. All that aside, i would hope that i could walk thru virtually anywhere in Israel, including a Chasidic community w/o being spat at, grumbled at if respectful of standards.

Mr. Avraham, my question is a serious one.Believe me, i tend to keep up on issues in Israel more than the average "goy" in the the states. Though i realize some incidents like the young jewish tourists being seriously assaulted at a beach (by other jews) are highly irregular, it causes some concern. Your statements are reassuring, as i would come to visit not only as a christian, but with a passionate zionist spirit. no other place on earth i long to visit. would love archaelogy sites.

I live in Israel and I am telling you it is perfectly safe. The chances of dying from an arab missile or knife or bomb attack is much, much, MUCH greater. A man died last week from a missile, but i can not remember the last time I heard charedim doing something wrong, and if they had it would have been reported because our media has a knack for reporting things that. And even if charedim would do something, which is extremely rare, it is never anything extreme.
