  • where did you get the small wind shield?

  • Nothing sounds so nice as a Norton on full song!

I must have one some day!

  • Bought a new Mk 2A 1974..... Interstate

Creamy smooth after 2500rpm , rubber doing its job

Good 4 speed gear box , when primary and final chain correct tension.

    BUT Lucas electrics..AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • i once took a portable cassette recorder out in the country with me and recorded the MK3 as i rolled past it at speed and went thru the gears - -Triumph shouldve knocked a few their bikes out to 828 too, but they didnt have superblend mains

  • To be honest the Norton engine was probably best as a 500, it was really smooth without the vibration :-) Anth.

  • Yeah i was born when this big beauty was coming off the production line, what a sexy sound!Glad i was born in the seventies id hate to think i was influenced by anything the eighties threw up,no pun intendid!

  • You missed out on the sixties :-) Anth

  • Yeah i know, missed out on the experimental sex era, bloody shame that, hoping on for a ride meant something else then eh!

  • I was born in '65 so I missed out on that bit as well :-)

  • Very nice bike, and very well made video.

  • I never rode one but I heard that Norton made their bikes with a lot of torque (PUNCH power through any gear). Norton also had a great racing record over the earlier years, 50's and 60's. One of the best Racers, I'm thinking of Mike Hailwood (500cc). He was amazing.

  • These do have a lot of torque, you don't need any to change down to overtake - just roll on the throttle :-) Anth.

  • ive had my Mk 3 about 20 years and just got er back out and id forgot how hard it pulls in 4th from 30 to 70 MPH - straightens my arm out goood for a vintage bike!

  • He he, looks like there is a lot of Norton people her. Well, the Commando must be one of the best sounding motorcycles in the whole motorcycle history.

  • They sound great! You should hear it when Linda and I are out on the Nortons together, cheers :-) Anth.

  • Lord, yes! There's nothing like the sound of a Norton. I have half a mind to rip the audio of the engine and loop it on my ipod.

  • Commandos Rule! Cool Video!

  • You'll be seeing this one in our next vid along with Linda's Roadster :-) Anth.

  • why does the bike sound as if it wants to cough during idle? While it runs the engine sounds consistent but when the ride is over and the throttle is closed it becomes a little lumpy

  • The Amal's have seen better days and are a bit worn. Cheers, Anth.

  • Commandos are always gorgeous

  • I think Nortons are the best British bikes :-)

  • this

    is

    better

  • I agree, cheers dude!

  • I think this is better!

  • I prefer Richard's Commando with kick starts and better soud
