Slater has only ever played one position. You don't know what would happen if he had to adapt. He has played with the same players, same brilliance, where as jarryd hayne from a young age was expected to be the messiah for parra. You cannot compare that. Also hayne doesn't go down. When does he go down easy. Everytime he touches the ball they need a whole team to tackle him and that is how he sets up tries, not being the ball player ricky stuart says he must be. He doesn't dive like a girl.

First off, Hayne carried a mediocre Parra team out of form to the finals in 09, in 2010 he was the only shining liht in a underachieving season. Slater had players at Melbourne, QLD and Australia who helped him achieve his goals. You can only truly say how good he is when he no longer has any superstars around. Hayne done it all himself.. Dugan while a good player, still not good enough to upheave NSW best player.

First off, Hayne carried a mediocre Parra team out of form to the finals in 09, in 2010 he was the only shining liht in a underachieving season. Slater had players at Melbourne, QLD and Australia who helped him achieve his goals. You can only truly say how good he is when he no longer has any superstars around. Hayne done it all himself.. Dugan while a good player, still not good enough to upheave NSW best player.

Both Slater and Hayne are amazing in their own ways. Slater can speed past defenders, Hayne can break tackles, they're both amazingly fast, Hayne's just got that extra footwork and vision for plays that makes him slightly better.

What about the fact he had/has some of the best play makers around him, Lockyer, Cronk, Thurston , then he's got incredible forwards doing everything else. I'm not saying Slater isn't a good player, but Hayne is simply better. Remind me what kicking game Slater has again? How many cut out balls he's thrown that result in tries? @81trm Now on to my next point. Melbourne have never had a legal team. Even now, as well. They didn't care if they got rid of Inglis as they still had 1,6,7 and 9 which is all they need. Parramatta doesn't have all of those positions filled yet so it is hard for the team to find combinations. You guys have had that combination for years when those players are all worth a bomb so it is obvious that it is still illegal. Head out of my ass?
