Well, if you are interested in multilinguism you should be afraid of the real "killer languages" rather than the hypothetical ones.
Even though Esperanto becomes prosperous, it hasn't a political and economic power behind it. Moreover, it is very easy and fast to learn. It is not intrusive like normal languages so it can live with them. It is used in some English school to help children to learn languages.
