Seriously? Why wouldn't you, unless there is a downpour? In any case, PVC is cheap, and far more robust than a cardboard tube. Moreover, its rigidity allows for a more effective build and to make a suppressor that ACTUALLY reduces noise output rather than simply being a waste of time that will break the first time you have an accident on the field (it happens).

Yeah, and I could get a attacked by an escaped wildcat while playing airsoft, too. With a 12" piece of schedule 40, 1" to 1.5" diameter PVC you would quite literally have to purposefully CLUB a tree or rock to crack it, and it still might not break. Don't try to tell me that cardboard has ANY advantages, other than weight, over PVC for this application. It doesn't. PVC is far superior.

There is nothing that makes a gunshot silent, just suppressors, and I am aware that I made that mistake. Forgive me for trying to help people save money on airsoft equipment. That doesnt work actually. You would have to make rings of the plastic you put in and just stuck them in there. And it wont reduce the noise at all on an electric airsoft gun it would only work on a gas or co2 gun.

just a little fyi u need a permet to have foam in your silencer if u dont have a permet in the usa for that you can get fined i sugjest you just buy your own or dont make it with foam try to find a different materail for that but good job this is fine as long as you dont like in the usa or just dont bring it out in public or to a airsoft feild.

Even if you found a way to build a strong enough silencer, the noise of the bullet leaving the muzzle with all of its energy behind it (the bang of a gunshot) will still make a noise.

sorry but you cant really "silence" an airsoft gun mainly because the sounds from the gun is the spring pushing the pellet and crashing it on to the chamber. so if you were to silence an airsoft gun, you'll have to silence around the whole entire gun.
