Walked this ridge in September on an extremely wet and windy day. Started at Jimmy Savilles house then came down into Glencoe village. A tough walk indeed, poor visibility all the way but the hardest part was getting down due to jellyleggyitis. Will give it another go next summer, but only on the promise of decent weather. To anyone planning this walk, take your litter home with you, keep Alba tidy ;)
did this few years back .. never been so scared .. got stuck trying to go round the pinnacles towards the end .. no fun for me :) although great if you have a head for hights and exposure.
Did this climb around 4-5wks ago the relsult was mind-blowing could'nt have wished for a better day if we tryed No Clouds , Blue sky and stunning views , now for An Teallach
The ridge has a fierce reputation and deservedly so.Having done the walk or should i say "Climb" it is one of the most amazing sites on earth from the top.
Great night in the Clachaig but there is a price to paid for that when you start to scale the ridge next morning.
My only advise is, make sure you are fit for steep climbing and take folk who are good at this.
I will be back to visit the grand old lady but next time i will have be fitter.
I think the song is off Lord of the Rings - it's the one where Elrond and Arwen are talking and she dreams of her future - I know that's a bit tmi - but that's the song.....
did this two weeks ago with the same type of weather. It was a return journey after trying it last year in zero visibility because of heavy rain and wild winds. First half hour was sunny and calm but as soon as it had us hooked (and far enough along the ridge) the weather closed in but we finished it anyway but we had to return this year to find out what the views are like and as you know they are stunning, especially in clear weather when you can see forever. Great video work, loved it.
I tried this ridge a number of winters ago after being given bad advice in the pub. This person said it was easily achieveable in the leather soled brogues I was wearing that evening. I got to the top with some difficulty but when it iced over it was impossible. I resorted to putting my socks on the outside of my shoes as I remembered this advice when on a 'common sense for the mentally ill' course a number of years previously.
I'm going to try this in a couple of weeks wearing my srn plimsoles, cut off jeans and a crop top which shows off my gunt. Obviously i'll carry my Greggs sausage rolls in a plastic bag so it can double up as a rain coat should the weather turn bad.
I think it was October, we were very lucky with the weather! The night before I got very pissed and ended up wrestling Jimmy Saville in teh Clachaig pub in Glengoe after too many Tequillas. True story.

Did this ridge with my brother 2 years ago now. Amazing climb/walk! Not for the faint hearted at all.
Dinner, a few ales and a change of underwear in the Clachaig Inn when we got down was much appreciated. haha. :-)
