Just to add even though i thought Eubank was a really good fighter he WASN`T the best middleweight in Britain because he dodged Herol Graham as imperialpod said.
Err,it seems like that when he dodged a load of fighters and got one or two rather dubious decisions.Against Micheal Watson 1st fight,Ray Close 1st fight and Benn the 2nd fight.He had his share of luck in a sport he critisised himself.
Fact is they didn't beat him and the fights were too close to call so unless you beat the guy absolutely, you don't take the title.
Only fighter he really ducked was Herol Graham and that was understanderable.
Watson was on his way to beating Chris until that SUPER lucky upercut but the result stands, Eubank by stoppage. 1st fight I had it a draw. Close was carried!
Eubank was unstoppable in that NO ONE ever knocked him out and on his day, he could have beaten anyone, inc. Toney or Jones!
Fact is that them fighters had crap decisions against them in Eubanks favour,whether nearly won or not it isn`t the point.Trash decisions are no good in boxing.Eubank also dodged every fighter outside of Britain who was good,Roy Jones would`ve run fookin rings round him when them above mentioned should`ve had the decisions.Carl Thompson stopped Eubank so you are wrong again.
In your opinion maybe, but in reality, Eubank matches and beats them all except Jones, who was tricky for anyone. Eubank takes Toney AND boring Hopkins anyday.
Eubank was more chin than skill. Dude got tired by the 5th round in every fight, never sustained a prolonged attack, his defense was mediocre, and he went to numerous draws and super close decisions against less-than-stellar competition.
Toney picks him apart and Hopkins just plain murders him.
