Great series, although I still preferred Macross Plus overall. Downloaded this over 56k back in the day; the massive phone bill was just about worth it ;).
I'm pretty sure the asswipes at Harmony Gold would LOVE to steal Macross Plus, DYRL, Seven, Frontier, and THIS and rename it to Robotech, take all credit for it, butcher the storyline, and give them horrible dubs.
@pinoi78 True but if you want blame, it be the American censors, our ignorance for Japanimination, and TV guidelines that prevent the Macross series to be broadcasted in its original form. As for horrible dubs, would you like to be in those auditions to choose the actors and actresses, because we'll never have a proper English voice characteristics that match the original Japanese voices. So until someone will pay up for the best movie and TV stars who could do a decent dub or develop an AI
@pinoi78 Studio Nue along with Big West are having problems with Tatsunoko Productions. There have been issues in the past, but most recently it seems as though that Studio Nue and Big West won't risk releasing the newer series in the US, because of the Economy and Tatsunoko. Harmony Gold may also do some Americanization, but the plots have diverged too much for them to fit together (along with different animation styles). Plus, SDF Macross, & Macross 2 were all released in the US with out HG.
@pinoi78 haha they didn't steal Macross, its the same exact story just made into episodes and made it into a much longer story, storyline was the same as, think of it as the movie but with a bunch of fillers haha, no but i really liked both and i can't give gold harmony for liking it, and hey if you ask me its much better or was than transformers, and gi joes and etc, lol , so please stop hating on robotech and gold harmony for trying to bring Japanese animation into the U.S, get ur facts strght

Do You Remember Love is what started it all. They are all enjoyable. All this stuff is streaming(dubbed and subbed, deleted scenes and all) somewhere, google is your friend.

I'm also a huge fan of aircraft's and aircraft "dog fights," what I'm stating is that they could've been more original with this trailer. I like the music, action scenes, etc... just they should've used music that is played in Macross Zero instead. But none the less, good series (except the ending could've used some work/changes).

But I've learned not to judge by the title, because the story can be told differently.
This 5 episode OVA takes place after the Alien craft crashed on earth and before the Zentradi came. The animation when I first saw it was top notch. As the story unfolded and each episode was released every 2-5 months apart, I thought it could've turned out better.
Still, they at least filled the story gap of that time period of what happened between the crash landing of the alien craft (converted to SDF-1) and when teh Zentradi came.
Check out Macross Frontier's animation (similar to better).
@soluuloi I wish I could answer this, all I know is that almost everything is going 3D/CG/Computer Animation. I believe this is because they can produce everything at a faster scale than traditional ways... no more still backgrounds all the time, more fluid movements of charaters/vehicles, etc. That's what I see, but if they use cheap CG/3D, then I agree it sucks.
@proverb311031 It was created in Japan, each country does its own language Dubbing. I hope they don't mess it up with bad voice acting tho, as I've seen in other Animes. I refuse to watch it in a dubbed version.
Macross Zero is a 5-episode OAV series set between the timethat the ship landed on Earth but before The Zentradi attack. It shows a time when UN Spacy is fighting another organization which actually developed the valkyrie fighter technology and an F-14 Navy pilot gets caught u in things.
It's an ok series in that the animation quality is good and we get to see Roy Fokker in action.OTOH it sucks that the story meanders in all kinds of directions and the final episode seems to have little to do with anything that came before it and gives no real conclusion. Very frustrating series to say the least.
Well that's a downer. I loved Macross Plus and even made a tribute video to it on my channel, so I was looking forward to seeing some more Macross stuff. It did look kinda sharp on the animation side, but if the story is no good.... that's kinda discouraging.

Frontier's animation is a little worser than Zero's but still very beautiful, I just wish that they didnt use the 3D effect cause it sucks.
