Oakdale has had more Champion Bull Riders, Team Ropers and All Around Cowboys come out of the area per square mile then any place on Earth. Add in that it was the home of the Great Three Bars & Seven Bars with the Rocket Bar Ranch not being located far from Oakdale.

So to the clown that claims to live there in the comment box and says that Oakdale has nothing to do with Cowboys but for a week a year he is a fool and knows little if the History of where he lives.

Oakdale is not a cowboy town...ive lived here my whole life...the only cowboy thing is that each year, for about 2-4 weeks people prepare for the rodeo, celebrate the rodeo, then suffer from a major hangover after the rodeo lol this town is Football and Rodeo. when we're not focusing on that, its kinda boring. still gotta love this town though

I like Oakdale, I'd rather live there than Modesto, but I don't know about it being the cowboy capitol of the world. I have seen places that could probably take that title. But, they do have a rodeo and a few cowboys there. Oh well, I like it.

La Grange? I don't know. I have heard several people say this is the first one of the year. We just had it, April 12-14. I didn't hear anything about La Grange. I'll ask around to be sure.

You are right in saying that LaGrange Rodeo happens before Oakdale, But LaGrange is not a PRCA event. So Oakdale Rodeo kicks off what they call the California Six Pack. Not sure what that mean cuz there are a hell of a lot more then six rodeos throught CA... I should prob look in to that...LOL

Oakdale is also home to Western Dairy Design.. they design dairies all over the world! It's on F street. What could more cowboy than the international best dairy designers? Oh, and Ted Nuce (Bull riding champion) hails from nearby Manteca, but had his business on the outskirts of Oakdale for years.

I live in this little town, this is a great video and shows all the best things about oakdale!!! A future episode should be about football in Oakdale, it;s a longstanding tradition of greatness, the high school takes great pride in it and fills up the 7000 person capacity stadium regularly... 'just started looking at your series. nice so far. born there as were both my parents and scores of aunts, uncles and cousins. I moved away when I was quite young but consider it my home more than where I actually grew up. I have a pic of main street in 1925.
