Naruto Uzumaki is the Fourth Hokage's son, however, Naruto doesn't carry the same last name as the Fourth, Jiraiyah(idk if that's how ya spell it x.x) was writing a book, the main characters name was Naruto Uzumaki, the Fourth Hokage liked this name and decided to give it to his son.

@kylejc141414 actually the name in jiraiya's book wasn't naruto uzumaki but only naruto. uzumaki is nartuo's mothers family name and naruto has his mother's name because people in the village weren't suppose to know that naruto was the fourth hokage's son !
