LOL My first girlfriend was bisexual, but I didn't know that until after we broke up, and my friend, who, at the time, recently came out of the closet, asked me if I knew about her new girlfriend. I completely agree with you but I'm gonna attempt to answer. Maybe they think that converting homosexuals to heterosexual will make their lives easier. However wrong it may be, gays are ridiculed and people may think they will make their lives better by "turning" them straight. I dunno.
Gays probably have it pretty good regarding relationships - you have a better understanding of how your partner's mind works. And besides, they can't create more children, so they don't take youth for granted, and a good number of pairs do try to adopt the abandoned "mistakes" made by straight couples.

Some people say bisexuals can't decide who they love or that they are seeking attention, but someone made the point somewhere at some point (yeah, real descriptive) that bisexuals don't limit their search for love to one gender for the simple reason that they truly love the person, not the gender.

I am agree that non-heterosexuality is not something to be viewed as needing to be converted, but for argument's sake, let's say someone wanted to convert from homosexual to heterosexual, or heterosexual to homosexual or anything like that for any personal reason they like. Maybe they feel more comfortable in one community or another and a change in sexuality would help them to fit in. What then? Does this therapy work? Or do more harm? Should we find safe ways to do it?

I'm Bisexual. people give me shit for it all the time. My mom and I had a huge fight when she found out. noone in my family but her knows and I hate that I have to hide it because of my family's beleifs and the fact that most of them are homophobic.
Not to mention,a couple of my best friends are Bisexual and Homosexual. My grad date was homosexual and I love him to bits!

I am agree that non-heterosexuality is not something to be viewed as needing to be converted, but for argument's sake, let's say someone wanted to convert from homosexual to heterosexual, or heterosexual to homosexual or anything like that for any personal reason they like. My 20 year old gay friends wanted to get married that year of '09. But guess what? The stupid religious voters put and end to that. Now, 2 men who have feelings for eachother will never be able to marry in California. They have to move, to get married. Thats not okay.

I'm Bisexual. people give me shit for it all the time. My mom and I had a huge fight when she found out. noone in my family but her knows and I hate that I have to hide it because of my family's beleifs and the fact that most of them are homophobic.
Not to mention,a couple of my best friends are Bisexual and Homosexual. My grad date was homosexual and I love him to bits!
I'm starting to wonder if Bisexuality and Homosexuality are ever going to be completely accepted. :/

Also, I believe Sexuality is fetish based, and due to the genetic make up of humans, due to evolution favoriting genes which will make us more driven towards reproduction, most of us have a fetish for the opposite sex, some for pain, some for yiffy, and some for the same sex (etc.) And I think that all humans have the potential to be of any sexual prefferance, and that environment determines what it is.

Well I agree, but I think that the strong Christians believe that god made us, and the only messege he gave to humans when he put us here was to be fruitful (not sure about that one) and Heterosexuality is in the best interest of humans as a species, therefore an imperfection in the eyes of god, so they deduce it must come from demons, because why would god make us so imperfect?! (I don't stand for what I just said btw, it's how I imagine Christian fundamentalists view it)

I Completely agree with you!!!!!!!!! The only difference (to me) between Gay and Straight is the way you have sex. Why should I care about what happens with you and someone else in the bed? If it doesn't involve me directly (like my man being in the closet or something like that) why should I care? Trying to "get the gay" out of people is stupid. Besides I love gay people. Most of the people I work with are gay and they are some of the GREATEST friends i've ever had!

I'm a Christian, and I beleive in gay rights, love is love. Now I will admit some people do it for attention, and that pisses me off. But when you really love that person then go for it. Love comes in all shapes colors and genders. No matter who you are you deserve love and wherever you find it is fine by me...unless its an animal, cause then...yea not so cool.
