Can someone experienced explain the mistake he made at 2:26. He looks to move his free hand over when reaching but still starts a rotation. Thanks (did my aff 1 last week)

looks like he is dearched and has his left knee slightly lower. This, coupled with a rigid body and the cupping of the left arm as he goes to pull has started the turn. It's not a biggie, and stiff body position is normal when starting. Line twists are usually no more than a nuisance and can generally be kicked out. Good luck with your aff, welcome to the sky :)

@PatAndPatProductions you obviously have know idea what skydiving is like. you can have very hard landings. especially in BASE jumping. you can stumbe on a landing with a wind to your back pushing you at 30 MPH. or if you have canopy malfunctions you can hit the ground hard enought to fuck you up but not kill you. you wear it for the same reason you wear a bike helmet.

There's TONS of scenarios where a helmet could prove very important, you may have a high speed collision in the air with another skydiver, no helmet = knocked unconscious in freefall, doesn't sound very fun...

OR a rough landing, you could easily fall on your head and cause severe damage.

Your continued existence isn't sufficient evidence that anybody can or should go out and learn to BASE jump. Remember, almost all of the best BASE who have ever lived are now dead. I have 4000 skydives and a few hundred base jumps.  Just because you can jump off of this bridge and live does not make you a BASE jumper, just a guy who's jumped off of a bridge a couple times and lived to tell about it.

i wan to go skydiving in the US. Jere in Germany its not allowed to jump off a plane alone at your first jump. You have to have an Instructor tied to your back and he has to pull the line...

oh harden the fuck up. the guy didnt have to do those challeges he could have backed out at any moment. you know soldiers in WW2 soloed their first jump, so do military personel these says, there is no reason anyone cant do their first jump by themselves if they are educated on what to do and how to do it, you need to take safety precautions in anything you do but that doesnt mean you shouldnt do something just because there is risks.

it is unbelivebal that they let an unexperienced skydiver going base jumping!!!! You can see it if he jumps from the bridge he dont know what to do with his legs such mistakes could kill you at base jumping and if these people die everybody is saying base jumping is to dangerous so never forget !!! Nomis, as a skydiver/BASE jumper, I believe it's far more important to be committed than number of jumps. Granted, you should have a solid skydiving background, and be comfortable under canopy. I DO NOT want to see anybody die on my jumps. On the other hand, if that person is committed, has the right background and training, and is prepared to eat the consequences should they fuck up, then more power to them.

You're right, on a couple of points. He is nowhere near ready to go stowed or pilot chute in hand. Miles knew that, and that's why he held his bridle on each jump. The Perine is known as one of the safest BASE jumping locations in the world. However, he may be ready to "go in" as you put it. I believe this person had a wonderful experience, it's no good cheapening it by saying that he's not ready. He survived without injury, didn't he?

maybee and you are right it is a sure jump but maybee the mistake is not in the jump but in the opening in the chute it is difficult while you are standing under high stress to do it at a normal skydive but what is he able to do at a base jump when the cannopy didnt open very well when the time is running !!!
