Wayne Newton, as people of a certain age here know, spent his adolescent years in Phoenix. In fact, he broke into show biz here, performing with his brother Jerry on a local talent show called Lew King's Rangers.
Wayne was a regular on a Phoenix TV show in the mid-to-late 60s, early 70s, where he actually got his exposure. He dumped his manager and went to Vegas. As a kid he was a pudgy little western singer before his voice changed. He also sang Danke Schon.
no wonder. I 've always wondered his ethnic origin since he looks like a mix of a lot of nationalities from asian to hispanic, greek, french, eskimo, middle eastern etc...

Ballet? You're thinking of the wrong person. He sings and he plays instruments. He doesn't dance, although he spent some time in dancing with the stars. I don't think he had enough time to polish it. It isn't easy. I've done some ballroom dancing and you're thrown with so many steps, so many moves - all at once. It takes LOADS of practice. I love him. I have for 33 years now, since I was 17. I always had good taste in music and he's got impeccable timing and talent and a sexy voice.
His father is Irish more than Indian. I'm a Newton from FREDERICKSBURG where he's really from. My grandmother used to babysit Wayne, and his aunt lived right next door to me. He is not naturally tan nor does he have black hair as you can obviously see in his pictures.
He tries to glamorize his past, but he's a distant cousin of Pocahauntus and only because we're desendents of her uncle.
I have always admired Wayne Newton for his dedication to his audiences and hard work. He's really amazing and seens like a kind person. Thanks for posting.
