"No one on our side is going to beat her with the cheap and nasty campaign that beat John Kerry"...So Newt is saying that the republicans are toast next year?
Veracifier. You should put some of Newt's American Solutions videos up from his website AmericanSolutions dot com. He has a webcast up from yesterday that is full of gems like this one. When you watch it you know he is the one to keep an eye on because he will be the GOP nominee. This man is a giant compared to any other candidate (dem or gop).
Hold on S1Gene, Hillary is even against "ClintonCare", Now. She says it was a mistake for the same reasons Newt said it was. America was overwhelmingly against it, too.
I dont think it was just the money. The 94 Republican Revolution was came about in part because of an overwhelmingly negative reaction by ordinary Americans to "ClintonCare" aka "HillaryCare". I think she is responsive to public sentiments. This is why she plays down her continuing support for the Iraq war in this Presidential primary.
Some guy got in an argument with me just last week in these comment boards trying to deny that the Swiftboating of Kerry was a "cheap and nasty" campaign. I'm glad Newt, dispicable as he is, told the truth,... just as I'm glad Greenspan, complicit as he is, told the truth about the GOP & Bush ruining America's economy. Too little, too late, but still vindication.
I agree daftool!! And why does all this people tell the truth LONG AFTER THE DAMAGE IS DONE. Colin Powell, George Tenet, Alan Greenspan, the list goes on and on.
I really have a new respect for the out-of-government Newt. OK, in the 90's he was the devil. But I REALLY like the fact that he's not a complete idiot. It's sad that the R frontrunners seem so uninformed about EVERYTHING. I can't tell if it's because they really don't know anything or because they know their base really likes to elect dumbasses every time. Sad to say, Newt would probably be a better President than all of them -- at least he's competent.
The 2004 Bush campaign was true and honest, not cheap and nasty.

Gingrich should know about CHEAP AND NASTY!
Gingrich was screwing his girlfriend behind Mrs. Gingrich back while he was attempting to impeach President Bill Clinton.
Gingrich is a hypercritic. He should keep his mouth shut and his pants zipped.

What I've heard is that nothing would unify Republicans like a Hillary getting nominated for President.
My bet is that he's trying to help Hillary win so that the unification will occure.

Thank you TPM for rescuing this stuff from the memory hole and putting it out there.

That probably has to do with the large amount of money she receives from the insurance lobby now.
