@bullet50000 ha Thanks! With a background in linguistics I could have tried, but I was kind of doing this impromptu and I guess my brain said "do not botch this name." lol
Hah, I had the NES Remote Controller. Unfortunately it only worked if you held it pointed directly at the sensor, leading to quickly tired arms. Besides that, the battery life sucked, and I'm glad they finally now have rechargeable controllers.
I remember when my mom got a nes at a pawn shop with a dozen games and I used to play Mario... alot. There was also another game that I loved but could never remember what it was called...
dude i know how u feel and it totaly sucks. when u take all day trying to beat a game, u beat it and no ones around then u tell everyone and no one believes u then they ask for proof and u totaly suck when they watch cus ya get all nervus. depressing times. nice reviews
my dad used to play this game and he beat it then he got this burned cd for it so he played on the game cube and right away he entered the code how come the code is so mezmorable?
One of the many memories I have of gaming is when my older brother and his friends (4 or more at a time) would get together and play Super Punch Out all night just to try and beat each other's times, and some had opponents that only they really knew and were good against.
They played the shit out of that game and had near world-record times a long time before things like that really became public.
I was a kid in the late 70's(and still am;),nearly all my paper route money went into Space Invaders(1979)when i was 12,then Galaxian, Pacman and Galaga. Those were the days.
Actually, it isn't a word for word rip off. I did use the Z'Nuff joke. It's called an Homage my friend. I am a fan of theirs. I never claimed that one was my joke.
I have never been a game tester but I hear it is boring and tedious. So is programming anc coding. Unless you own the company or are the boss, it might be better to be a fan.
i remember the legend of Zelda on the NES that game was kick ass back then i still have the cartridge but My NES broke or got messes up so now i cant play it and i never beat it i was close 2 beat Gannon but it never happened but anyways great vid
Sega and the mega drive for me while i was growing up. But i live in england, and like you said, sega was more popular in europe than america. It was true too..everyone..i mean everyone..owned a mega drive. And of course, where theres sega..theres sonic! my life long love. Heh.
I remember playing this really old Sega games, one with Michael Jackson running around killing monsters. However, if you started the console without any game in it, and punched in a code, you where able to play some kinda snail race game. Trying to remember the name of the console, but I'm lost. Perhaps you know what I'm talking about?
In addition to what you said about Nintendo's licensing agreements. Nintendo also told your third parties that they could only put out 5 games a year. So third party companies had to figure out which games they were going to put out. So third parties had to pick the best 5 games.
Ah yes rockin' with dokken!!! These videos rock!!! Anyone who disagrees is smoking crack. I so remember ditching school to play nintendo. Oh yes the days of playing Castlevania,Contra,Super C, RC pro am etc. When you mentioned skipping school to play NES...That took me back. Thanks!!! Keep the vids coming...People like me will enjoy them. Mainly because we grew up in that era of gaming. Those who don't enjoy the videos..probably never played the classic systems of yesteryear.
I got a bit bored after the NES stuff because here in Europe, as you mention, it was all Sega. In school my friends and I were Sonic maniacs. Mario who?
Anyway, there's some useful information about game history here never the less so thank you.
i live in australia and all my freinds and family had a sega master system
And I was the only one with an NES and i loved it more than the master system as for the sega mega drive my brother got that and then i got a SNES. the reason why sega was more popular in europe and australia was because sega was released in europe before the NES was sega came across europe in 1986 and for some reason the NES arrived in 1987 and as for now sonic sux but
Although technically available in 85 the Nintedo and sega didn't start catching on until 87. There really is a difference of almost 3 years between the 8 bit consoles.
This is a lousy history. Ok number 1.Don't compare precrash systems with post crash systems. You also have the vic 20 which is a computer as a game machine. After the video game crash of 83 everybody was buying commodore 64s and other computers nobody was interested in video game consoles.
One, I can compare what I choose to compare. Two, yes people bought Vic20's and 64's but the impact on video games themselves was not all that great. Name one trend or game that the Vic20 helped launch.
Ok wrong wrong wrong. I said you compared the vic 20 as a game machine which it's not its a computer. The vic 20 had the Scott adams text adventures which were later ported to other machines. My point was that for the 3 years in between the crash and the nes there was a computer boom which owned the market. You didn't just step off of colecovision and go buy the newly released Nes.
One. No, you are wrong. Two, I played the Scott adams adventures on the Vic20. I love them. Three - Does the title say Brief History of Computers? No. So, unless you can name a decent system between Coleco and Nintendo. Get off my channel. People were computing their asses of with the Vic20 . . .get out of here.
Not all girls are against or don't like video games. My young sister likes games. Although she's no gamer so if you were to talk to her about Mega Man, she'd only comment about the game itself but wouldn't even know about Mega Man himself. Say something about street fighter, she'd give a couple of comments about the characters, especially Ken, her fav. Say something about a new Zelda game, cover your ears cuz she would scream from joy. :D
Great vids, man this brings back a nostalgia hit, like no other! I am 28 and grew up with all this stuff console and pc games of old, and loved it all! Now I am strickly pc games because they seem to be more advanced and mature, but I still love the old console games from atari/intellivison -- nintendo ending with ps1 After ps1 pcs got 3d cards and I never looked back! You are trying to say that education, knowledge
,writing skills,reading skills,studying,
reviewing class notes and getting efficient
grades in school is not important especially
when students take SAT in Junior year of High
School.
ushakov7 3 years ago
nope. SATs are not really all that relevant. Maybe if you want a scholarship or to get into Brown so you can be an unemployed Brown graduate.
