@PFULMTL i drove the regular wrx and didn't like it that much..it was good, but i liked the gen coupe more (which is what I bought). I'd say if you were going for the impreza, the only awesome one is the STI. But then again, i think it all depends what you need your car for.

@LonewolfSaichi Other reviews have showed that the paddle shifters dont shift as fast as other competiton cars such as: 370Z, G37, etc. However I never heard of any actual problems with them like not working.

@espeonforever8 I just bought the 3.8 Base in the Lime Rock Green with a manual 6spd. I get so many compliments on it everywhere I drive, and it's so much fun to drive too. Yes, the Mustang GT is quicker, and so is the 370Z, but it's just stupid to compare it to the RSX-S.

@shmikens most likely. hyundai has been doing this to most of their models. as they have taken a new approach and completely new designs. companies usually change the name to get rid of any relations with previous models. hyundai has done this with the tuscon, now called IX35, sonata now called i45, the elantra now called the i30. it isnt really just a new name, its creating a new line of cars.
@shmikens no its not, genesis coupe is a rwd sports car based off the genesis sedan platform. Tiburon is completely separate design getting its own replacement aimed at gas efficiency yet still sporty, i believe its in prototype now under the velostar name.
its a good car, i test drove it the other day, great looks and good handling, but still not as crisp as the german brands such as merc and bmw. nevertheless very good for the price.

Don't automatically assume that a bigger engine means a huge increase in gas consumption. The new Corvettes are getting unbelievable gas mileage, and they ain't V6's. The 3.8 V6 Genesis Coupe gets about the same gas mileage as a 2004 V6 2.7 Tiburon, which is amazing considering the increase in engine performance. New technologies mean better gas consumption....mostly by demand on all new vehicles being built these days.

I think Hyundai really needs to put the new 2.4T GDI engine as the base option as well as for the R-Spec. 2.0T just won't cut it at all. Plus, get rid of that ugly front grill. Bring around the head light a little more like the new 2011 Sonata, price it at around 20k for the base model, and I think we have a winner.
He says the color is exclusive for the V6 Track version... I tested an Interlagos Yellow 2.0T just yesterday... automatic too, which sucked, but it's the only demo car they had, and I was quite surprised on how it pulled and how it handled... I think the Koreans are doing a superb job. Kudos to them! I love this car, I really want to get it.
I test drove a 3.8 a couple weeks ago mainly to see how much stupid there was under the right foot. There was plenty! ;)

On HIghway 7 in Toronto, a BMW 700 series tried to race me off a red-light. He got ahead on takeoff (he's driving automatic), but no matter how hard he hit the gas, he couldn't outrun me. It didn't take long to blow by him once you get the car into 3rd and 4th gears.
At the next red light, I looked over and saw one pissed off face. It's satisfying.
Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm saving for one currently don't know if i want an r-spec or a 2.0 track, from what I'm reading these i4's are making a lot of power on stock internals and the power band is being pushed further and further. Love the F/R platform with the lsd, basically what is selling me on this car not to mention the overall quality and price...which should be first priority.

I have tried the 3.8GT and I was impressed, good speeding, nice torque, and also the sound of the engine waas cool though. The thing is that the rear shit are a real joke, no space at all I'm 5,9 and I don't feat in also the manual transmission a bit slow, too slow compared to some other car of the same price, but overall the car is a really beauty, it just about the transmission and also the base model aren't that great only the GT are worth it.
Please invest on high end camera before posting this video. Thanks!

its not the fastest genisis but fuck! wiping through thoes gears with the optional paddleshifters was sweet.

@shmikens most likely. hyundai has been doing this to most of their models. as they have taken a new approach and completely new designs. companies usually change the name to get rid of any relations with previous models. hyundai has done this with the tuscon, now called IX35, sonata now called i45, the elantra now called the i30. it isnt really just a new name, its creating a new line of cars.

@shmikens no its not, genesis coupe is a rwd sports car based off the genesis sedan platform. Tiburon is completely separate design getting its own replacement aimed at gas efficiency yet still sporty, i believe its in prototype now under the velostar name.

@poskyflyer in multiple comparison tests, the genesis coupe beat the v6 versions of the mustang, camaro, and challenger. It handles better and is much more fun to drive. it even beat the 370Z in one of those comparison... Ford, dodge, and gm have been producing sporty cars for decades and hyundai's first rwd sports car has already beaten them. IMO hyundai is way better then any Japanese or american car company's because it produces cars that people want at a price they can afford

why is everyone kicking off about the genesis only having a V6 and not a V8!!! Who cares really!! In a worlds today where petrol prices r getting higher and higher as well as being more eco for the planet and all that, does it really matter!?! I'd much rather get from A to B in style practicality, comfort and value for money! which the genesis coupe offers! then speeding in a guzzling V8 in a cloud of smoke!!

Don't automatically assume that a bigger engine means a huge increase in gas consumption. The new Corvettes are getting unbelievable gas mileage, and they ain't V6's. The 3.8 V6 Genesis Coupe gets about the same gas mileage as a 2004 V6 2.7 Tiburon, which is amazing considering the increase in engine performance. New technologies mean better gas consumption....mostly by demand on all new vehicles being built these days.

What did I say? Why are you thumbing down on my comment? All I said was, Hyundai should upgrade the engine and get rid of some ugliness at the front. Which is exactly what the car needs. Otherwise, the car will get pushed aside by Mustangs, Camaros and Z's. And, that's exactly what's happening.
I'll jump all over this car when Hyundai puts some more muscles with something like 3.8 Turbo with 380-400HP and better manual shift.

I think Hyundai really needs to put the new 2.4T GDI engine as the base option as well as for the R-Spec. 2.0T just won't cut it at all. Plus, get rid of that ugly front grill. Bring around the head light a little more like the new 2011 Sonata, price it at around 20k for the base model, and I think we have a winner.

He says the color is exclusive for the V6 Track version... I tested an Interlagos Yellow 2.0T just yesterday... automatic too, which sucked, but it's the only demo car they had, and I was quite surprised on how it pulled and how it handled... I think the Koreans are doing a superb job. Kudos to them! I love this car, I really want to get it.

I test drove a 3.8 a couple weeks ago mainly to see how much stupid there was under the right foot. There was plenty! ;)
They had a 2.0T there this weekend so I took that out and there was much more reasonable amount of stupid under the right foot.
It really surprised me. I hammered it in 2nd and the reaction from both of us was "woooh...." Really set you back in the seat. Kinda unexpected after three Tiburons.....LOL

On HIghway 7 in Toronto, a BMW 700 series tried to race me off a red-light. He got ahead on takeoff (he's driving automatic), but no matter how hard he hit the gas, he couldn't outrun me. It didn't take long to blow by him once you get the car into 3rd and 4th gears.
At the next red light, I looked over and saw one pissed off face. It's satisfying.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm saving for one currently don't know if i want an r-spec or a 2.0 track, from what I'm reading these i4's are making a lot of power on stock internals and the power band is being pushed further and further. Love the F/R platform with the lsd, basically what is selling me on this car not to mention the overall quality and price...which should be first priority.

I have tried the 3.8GT and I was impressed, good speeding, nice torque, and also the sound of the engine waas cool though. The thing is that the rear shit are a real joke, no space at all I'm 5,9 and I don't feat in also the manual transmission a bit slow, too slow compared to some other car of the same price, but overall the car is a really beauty, it just about the transmission and also the base model aren't that great only the GT are worth it.
