  • think about it.. if water is H2O that means that there is one part hydrogen and two parts water so u would get the equivelnt of a thrid of water.

  • That could be Sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Since he uses Aluminium metal (cans) only that can be the solution....

    P.S. if you can.... try this at chemistry class: put NaOH in a test tube and a pice of aluminium foil or a pice of something made of Aluminium.... let it for a while and it starts to buble... It needs to be very strong NaOH... I tried this!

  • the other stuff should be gallum, i've done some stuff with gallium and aluminum and when they connect with water it makes a really crazy reaction ..and it also turns the water black like it is in his container.

  • Pretty good video; the end was pretty exciting. I bet the canister's explosion was WAY louder than what it sounds like in this video.

    Are you using some sort of strong acid to react with the aluminum cans (the same reaction in a 'Works bomb' or 'hydrogen bomb')? What do you do with the reactants left in the canister?

  • ace ,what is the solution and would this make a portable cutting equipment..hydrogen /oxygen should cut tungstan ,have you tried that thanks..may be a safety valve may be good idea..

  • This was just a test to see how easy hydrogen is to make. We have since refined the reaction and it is now much more controlled. As you can see hydrogen is easy to make in large quantities if needed. Regarding cutting tungsten you would have to experiment with that yourself.
