  • Great old skool vid, do u know who is singing.

  • There was no sound to the footage. That was added by the Little Rock Drum Group during a drum ceremony in at the Little Rock Ballfield.

  • AWESOME!! I LOVE THIS!!!!MAKE MORE!!

  • Michael, Archives has footage of Red lake and my grandpa Thomas Hill is singing pow wow tunes, it is called "The Tree is Dead", you should check it out and it has sound, from over the 50's, ask Gary

  • That sounds cool...I will check with them.

  • wow that was great to see...old school moves huh..we are all glad you put that out there....you should try and add some more tags so it shows up when you search you tube...i bet you would have about 50,000 hits....thanks for your efforts.......gotta love those old school moves though

  • Oh my goodness, how things have changed!!!

  • cool video.

  • I love it.

  • wow good video. I showed it to my grandma and she was glad to see it.

I asked her about the war bonnets, she said back then everyone had them, even kids, it wasn't a status or anything, just a style. But I wonder now If I went out there with one, I'd probably get someone telling me I couldn't wear it. lol

  • Glad you both enjoyed it. Good question about the war bonnets--I wondered about that also. I'll try to find out from someone. I was kind of worried about adding the soundtrack to it, too, but the music and beat fit so well that it gave the footage more life.

  • Ask Al Thunder if he knows. He and his brothers use to dance back in the day.

  • Good idea...I'll do that.

  • Mike, do you have more historical videos you can post? These are very interesting. Also, can anyone identify who the dancers are? Thanks alot. Good job!

  • I'm working on acquiring more of these as time permits. I'm also working on trying to identify some of the people in the old footage. A copy of the original footage--no sound--was sent to the Tribal Archives, as well.

  • And, I am aware of some other footage from the 1960's that I'm going to try and get ahold of, too, and convert to video.

  • there is a old ghost dance video on youtube...not the same tribe as in this video..but still very good video due to it's age. I like seeing old footage stuff.

  • ho wah!

  • Thats just awesome Mike.....keep them coming
