Hey! I'm a new subby and so far ur channel has been very helpful. I just started my locs about a month and a few weeks ago and they are about ur length in this vid. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

OMG! I said the same thing! I kept seeing these videos about short locs but then it will be people who can put their hair in a ponytail! Like that is not short! Its called medium length! But thank you for this video...much much much needed! Much Love!

Try cornrows I kno thts common but it looks nice my girlfriend did mine and my hair is the same exact length as yours I like the curly dread look they give you, try tht style out works for me, plus you get two styles in one, after you take out the cornrows you get curly dreads, also as your hair gets longer the dreads look very nice as they curl,

@therealantonioe Thanks. I believe the conrow style is the braid-out. Take a look at my channel, I did that in one of my vids when my locs were still the length in this video. I also did a curl style as well. Now I use bantu knots to make fuller curls in my locs.

Thanks for the options! I just took my extensions out 4 weeks ago and my locs are about 3" long and I had no idea what to do with them except a headwrap. I love what you did and I definitely will be trying them. Thanks for making me feel better about how I can look. : )

@MSSINCERE710 I know I am super late but I didn't style too much at a very short length just to make sure my locs were healthy and strong. What I used alot when my hair was shorter than in this vid was an ouchless headband (or bra strap! lol) and a pretty loc jewel.

at the beginning you said you have eczema and I seem to only have it really bad in my scalp. I have probably tried 50million things but don't really find too many ppl especially with locs that have it in their scalp...what do you use to keep your scalp moist (besides the evoo/water mix) I have been trying a new product for the past week & so far so good but figured I would ask

@smashleyruns In the beginning, I used the evo& water mix DAILY. I also used evo alone as a conditioner after doing acv rinses once a week. it really helped bring my hair back to a healthy, manageable place. the key is making sure the area stays clean and well moisturized...however too much moisture will make it worse.

@1Berriberry I'm telling you, it's one of the greatest things I've even come up with! lol...I still use them now! I never wear the adjustable straps ON the bra after I buy them. Only in my hair, they're perfect! LOL

since u know alot about hair i got a question. when i wash my afro it shrinks and looks shorter and it cant fit into a pony tail after i wash it. and i wanted to know if i get a perm would that keep my hair from looking shorter when i wash it??

@Lilstrike16 i would not recommend putting any type of chemicals in your hair, perms are very damaging to the natural structure of your hair.

Thanks for clarifying the length thing. I have 6-7 inch locs and a person with very good intentions just sent me a video on how to style short locs. I think of my locs as being more medium in length than short. Your locs look great, by the way. Do you still have them?

Did you start them yourself? Which method did you use to start them? I want locs so badly, but am afraid that my hair is too short to even make an attempt.

Yes, I started them myself in february...i back-combed and two weeks later, latch-hooked from root to end. Now I use the latch-hook method to maintain them, palm rolling the ones that are long enough after washing when I don't retighten.
