I don't think amnesty is the solution. I am in total favor of having the armed forces patrol the border. I don't think most Americans know the level of danger on the border. I don't know how bad things are going to get in Mexico but it will get bad. This drug war is intensifying and it has potential to hit LA, Houston, El Paso, etc. The US also needs to stop regressive policies overseas which have caused this problem like ending the war on coke and marijuana. Those two things will end this.

The "war on drugs" has done nothing but waste countless billions of dollars. It has done nothing to reduce drug use and has created a playground for criminals of all levels all over the globe, and incarcerated who-knows how many other people for essentially victimless crimes.

I think pro-amnesty people and anti-amnesty need to reach a consensus. I propose allowing them to work in America but denying them any sort of welfare or public service. By illegals going back home they will stop remittance and potentially cripple their respective economies. This isn't about protecting their economies its about the future repercussions. When the American economy improves they will come back in bigger numbers so you will have twice the headache.

So I don't understand what you're suggesting as a solution. If you're suggesting we bring the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan, stop having them protect the borders of S Korea and everywhere else and start using them to protect our own borders than i guess we've actually been in agreement the entire time. But if you're suggesting that any sort of amnesty type program will solve our problems and end the waves of illegal aliens, then we will always be in disagreement.

I don't think amnesty is the solution. I am in total favor of having the armed forces patrol the border. I don't think most Americans know the level of danger on the border. I don't know how bad things are going to get in Mexico but it will get bad. This drug war is intensifying and it has potential to hit LA, Houston, El Paso, etc. The US also needs to stop regressive policies overseas which have caused this problem like ending the war on coke and marijuana. Those two things will end this.

well, I don't tow any party line really, but I am a conservative when it comes to government size (small) government authority (very limited) and government taxation and spending (as little as possible). The "war on drugs" has done nothing but waste countless billions of dollars. It has done nothing to reduce drug use and has created a playground for criminals of all levels all over the globe, and incarcerated who-knows how many other people for essentially victimless crimes.

I agree 98% but there needs to be a limit to libertarianism. I support the right for people to choose but when it comes to business there needs to be regulation for example, we need e-verify to be implemented all across the USA but in LA where the city heavily depends on illegal labor its just not possible.

I think pro-amnesty people and anti-amnesty need to reach a consensus. I propose allowing them to work in America but denying them any sort of welfare or public service. Also banning driver's licenses for them. The reality is that we can't kick them out right now. The economy is going down the toilet and implementing e-verify would cause employers to leave the US. Cities like Los Angeles, San Ysidro, Huntington Park, South Gate, cities that depend on illegal immigration would go broke

Those cities are ALREADY broke! And why? Because there aren't enough tax dollars available to support the illegal immigrants who come here to leech off the system! Nobody DEPENDS on illegal immigrants!

already broke? Have you done any research? I work in South Gate and my entire business depends on illegals. Illegals come here and do their taxes with us. They generate a lot of income for businesses like mine which are abundant in California.

I agree our state benefits from illegals....and so does the nation with cheaper food prices. However, isn't our state going bankrupt, because they are uninsured....they are on welfare...they are in our prisons..and they are a huge strain on our education ..isn't like listed near last in standardized testing? Democrats are using them by granting blanket amnesty for political gain for their votes..yet tax paying Americans will lose jobs in the stimulus to them.

Thats a whole other thing there. Of course these people should not receive Federal or state aid, but I am a bit reluctant on denying them healthcare (its immoral as well as denying to any human being). It really pisses me off though that I as an American have to go to Tijuana to receive medical aid while illegals can walk into an emergency room and get it free
