These comments on all of these survivor videos are so repetitive it's gotten old quick. This guy is better then that guy, this guy can kick the other guys ass in the wilderness etc. etc. etc. Who gives a fuck?! In hindsight they're all better then any of us commenting PERIOD. If we were in any of their situations for just 12 hours, the rescuers would find us naked, in the fetal position throwing sticks at a rock wall, speaking in tongues.
So much better than Bear Grylls?? Bear Grylls is an idiot?? People when you've have to survive in extreme conditions, the picky ones die first and the real man like Bear survives the longest. The things he does may seem outrageous while we watch from the comfort of our homes but those things are the stuff that gets u alive. Bear is all abt efficiency and not elegance.

@daas8214 Ray Mears is about comfort while in the bush. He's trying to teach people how to be as comfortable as they can so they can stay calm. Filleting a fish may not be a 'practical' survival technique, but it's helpful nonetheless. Also, he is not fat. He is actually very strong, having practiced Judo for many years. What you see isn't fat, but muscle, just not very toned muscle. I don't really want to argue about this anymore; you didn't provide anymore reasons as to why Grylls is better.

Extreme survival is more like Les Strouds show beyond survival where he goes to remote tribes and learns about their survival, people have credited their survival to Les.
Ray Mears is too much of a gentleman to ever talk about the skills of other survival "experts," but his reputation in the UK goes back many years. He's becoming more well known in the US and the recognition is long overdue. IMHO, he's the best out there. I really respect Les Stroud, but he's still not in Ray's league. Unlike other self-proclaimed experts, Ray Mears' reputation (and Stroud's too) are rock solid.
