  • why is she speeking german? im a native german speaker and i was confused why she used my language xD are the britans thinking that all germans are nerds???

  • @myzinsky Don't you get the fact that this is a scene that SOMETHING must've been leading up to? Watch the show and make a valid comment. One German person that says she is a nerd on a TV show does NOT suggest that the entirety of Great Britain think that every German is a nerd.

  • I just removed Antivira AV virus from my laptop with no help . I ' m shocked . ICH BIN EIN NERD!!

  • I forgot, why did she say this?

  • @Jdeadevil Jen had just understood why the lady wanted to hire her... she thought about it and realised she had become a nerd, hence 'ich bin ein nerd'

  • @Jdeadevil

Yes, she realizes at this moment hanging out with the guys has made her a nerd. She has this epiphany when she mused about the fact she liked "Guided by Voices" (a band) and normal people had never heard of them. You might notice they're in the suggestions for this clip :) .

  • i just watch this like 40minutes ago an it was awsome 8D

  • omg i laughed sooo hard at this bit XDXD

i just love the IT Crowd <3

  • why did she speak german? i don't get it.... should this underline her "nerdness" :-D

  • Ich bin ein Berliner (Kennedy)...I Think

  • @Oddesign its taken from a famous quote of kennedy, 'ich bin ein berliner', just like sktronic said. from wiki: Kennedy should have said "Ich bin Berliner" to mean "I am a person from Berlin." By adding the indefinite article ein, his statement implied he was a non-human Berliner, thus "I am a jelly doughnut".

its pretty much the best typo of the century

  • No sorry, thats incorrect. Im a german native speaker and besides his funny accent Kennedy used correct grammar.

"Ich bin ein Berliner" is just funny in some regions outside Berlin where "Pfannkuchen" are called "Berliner". But for a Berlin inhabitant Kennedy just said that he "is" one of them and that is exactly what he wanted to say.

What Kennedy said is far away from beeing a typo.

  • The wiki article is a bit contradictory, it goes on to explain that it's not actually a typo.

    crazy wiki.

  • absolutely correct :) (native speaker as well :P)

  • @Weltenverzehrer i watched the Kennedy speech again and realized that my former notice isn`t absolutly correct. Problem is Kennedy used the word "ein" in his sentence. As a german you would normaly say "Ich bin Berliner" or "Ich bin Frankfurter" or whatever city you come from. The little word "ein" shifts the meaning a little bit towards the "Berliner Pfannkuchen" (a jelly filled kind of donut) which is called "Berliner" outside of Berlin.

  • @angstmonkey1

Except that everything you just said is just an urban legend.

  • hahaha this just came on tv

  • My favourite momnt of the new series so far!
