The flood in CE and 2 was so much better than in 3. In 3, they tried to make it more alien, but all they did was make everything pink and not very intimidating. In CE and 2, just seeing the start of a flood level with all the fog, you knew shit was about to go down. The lack of visibility and general mysteriousness just made it so much scarier.
@Justin98235 make everything pink? i'm not sure i agree with that. yes, the flood in halo 3 were not as scary or intimidating, but i think that has more to do with the design of the level in which the flood were in than the flood themselves. i personally think the level in halo 3 in which the flood were introduced was fairly intense, it was dark, there was fire and death everywhere, and all of a sudden you'd see a deformed creature leap from rooftop to rooftop, disappearing into the darkness...

Fucking hell. When I first played this I was scared shitless! When I saw the orb things I was like "Oookay, ammo sponges..." Then when the combat form came in, I was saying "Eh, I'll just soften it up and bash it dead..." Yeah...not so good. The thing took more than half my shields in one blow and I flipped the fuck out. It took me three days to finish that damned section.

When I was 8, I chickened out of the checkpoint where you meet the head humpers, and it took me months to work up to meeting them...I felt like an utter retard for fearing the humpers! Then the infected came about...:P
This level was the most pointless part in the game. Scary as shit music, going down those hallways FILLED with carriers waiting to explode, and the rocket shooting elites. The only good part in this level is when you get the sentinels come to help you out! And all through the end you get the key... Then guilty spark is just like "oh, ill take that!" im like "wtf, you coulda just picked it up and teleported outtof there instead of me going through another godamn level of legendary! GOSH D:

I liked the flood back in halo, when they were mysterious and new. I probably heard the start of this song about 100 million times cause I'd die so much.
In halo 2 they gained some funky new tricks though, in halo 3 I've had enough of em. I think they became less scary and more annoying.
but yeah I pretty much T_T every time I hear this, probably the best time to whip out the assault rifle and just spray those bullets. The surprize flood with Rocket launchers were soo annoying.

This level was the most pointless part in the game. Scary as shit music, going down those hallways FILLED with carriers waiting to explode, and the rocket shooting elites. The only good part in this level is when you get the sentinels come to help you out! And all through the end you get the key... Then guilty spark is just like "oh, ill take that!" im like "wtf, you coulda just picked it up and teleported outtof there instead of me going through another godamn level of legendary! GOSH D:

But in Halo 3, you can see humans mutating...
Oh, and in Halo 1 is this "shock", that you discover them the first time and no one knows what to do.

As soon as I hear this, I think "AAAHHH, FLOOD!"
Then I look around me for any flood.
I first played flood levels when I was 8 or 9, the nightmares seemed to never go away.
This track just makes it all much scarier, even to this day after playing CE and hearing this track countless times.

I liked the flood back in halo, when they were mysterious and new. I probably heard the start of this song about 100 million times cause I'd die so much.
In halo 2 they gained some funky new tricks though, in halo 3 I've had enough of em. I think they became less scary and more annoying.
but yeah I pretty much T_T every time I hear this, probably the best time to whip out the assault rifle and just spray those bullets. The surprize flood with Rocket launchers were soo annoying.
