What a fricken phenomenal crane shot to open this clip. That is one of the coolest I've seen since Dirty Harry... the scene where he steps on the psycho's leg wound in the football field and the helicopter pulls back a mile literally! You know I'm both a bluesguitar player and a film maker!
Me and Mr. Johnson it's a great cd a good tribute to Robert Johnson and Steve Gadd (the drummer) is one of the greatest drummers. So if you like blues, if you like the good music, this cd from Clapton is for your collection.
what's wrong with yo? just because i'm of the newer generations and it's part of my vocab i don't deserve to use it on a clapton page? i love clapton, he's my guitar idol
yea man..and its freaky coz if u watched this jap interview of him way back with George Harisson..he says the exact same thing when he comes out from his car
Brilliant, blues through and through - just makes me want to close my eyes and listen all day. Clapton's soul pours through in his playing and singing. What a great man
I'm not sure but I think the strat hes playing is one of a limmited number of guitars painted by the 80s graffiti artist "crash". I know Clapton has an interest in nyc subway art. Not sure it works on guitars tho?
Robert Johnson was 27 when he died and Clapton is twice that now... so if anything he should sound better than Robert J... wrong! blues dont come with age or experience it simply comes from feeling! if you feel it you can convey it
Clapton once said he'd be lucky if he could understand half of Johnson's stuff in his life time. My lady friend was born and raised 30 miles from Johnson's hometown. She has never heard of Johnson. In her younger years (60's) kids were NOT allowed to listen to BLACK music. Irony - a chap from another continent dying to understand the man yet he was pretty much "outlawed" in his home town/state.
This stuffs awesome. Me and my friend are starting to play stuff like this and i have never had so much fun jamming. EVER! You can get soooo into these songs. Just start soloing and dont stop for a few minutes. damn its way to much fun!
Love Chris Stainton on piano. He gets an old-time "rinky tink" sound I'd have killed to learn back when my parents forced me into studying classical piano.
Why do I love this song so much? I am completely addicted. Someone with music knowledge around who can suggest similar songs which blend grief with a kind of swing? To my ears, even other songs of Johnson do not have this quality.
Pick up Claptons "from the cradle" cd. Theres tons of it on there. This song is infectious because of the key (Am) that its done in and the circulating riff that surrounds the melody.
Theres a geezer from the Sopranos playing drums for Clapton... jesus theyre gonna whack some fucker... good stuff, never liked Clapton, too middle of the road for me, but his passion for Johnson is undeniable and infectious.
correct me if im wrong, but its not rockfield is it?

'So I was filming... then the world's greatest guitarist pulls up, steps out of his 911 and says "Lets Rock!"... '
just too cool!

That's blues only need a real bluesman..
The band full of good guys but they sounds like a piece of shit playing a cliche.
Nice car...

You don't know what you're talking about. Clapton is easily a 'real blues man.'
