Driver died before reaching hospital. Police had received a tip-off the driver had weapons. However, no weapons were found in the car. They found glue which the driver had apparently been sniffing.

It looked like they had plenty of opportunities to stop the chase safely early on - especially when the first shots were fired, surely he could have been more assertive and approached on the DRIVER'S SIDE. If he was firing warning shots, why just give up and walk away?
It's weird that the cop(s) fired shots but displayed no aggression. A loud "OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR NOW" and trying to force his way into the car might have worked.
And why kill him? The suspect didn't ram anyone.

I agree with you that running from the police is dumb, but there's a limit to when they should and should not shoot. If it can be shown that police opened fire when they clearly need not have, then that's a problem, whatever the suspect has done.
If the police tell a young, unarmed, drunken teenager to stop and he/she runs away, is it ok if the officer shoots the teenager in the back of the head? Of course not!
Not all police shootings are necessarily wrong, but this one looks odd.

Just consider the cases of police taking a suspect in for "questioning" in China/Iraq/etc and the suspect just disappears.
Wanting police (and government) accountability is COMPLETELY different from "covering up" for criminals. And completely necessary.

Driver died before reaching hospital. Police had received a tip-off the driver had weapons. However, no weapons were found in the car. They found glue which the driver had apparently been sniffing.

Im pretty sure the guy who posted that video is as good in knowing that case as that man in the black car knows the law! The guy in the car had shot in the air twice before2drive..Oh now that explain more! I think those cops have been really patient and gave the guy in the car many chances to stop. ok killing him was not the best way, but he was armed and dangerous(plus at least they didn't break any cop cars which wont B used a "oh we need to put the tax higher for the police found" duh :P)

obviously it wasn't because those cops in taiwan didn't know how to shoot or how to take down the criminal. instead, that dead guy must have connection with, maybe, someone with high position in the parliament. That's why the cops didn't want to have him killed at first. But when all the medias and journalists arrived, they had to do something to prevent the negative comments toward them on the news.

Oh my god, one, it was not a road block. Two, they shot out the tires fo the car. Three, they weren't trying to kill the lad, just trying to get him to stop. The guy inside was also a drug or arms dealer or something, don't remember. THe cops told him to get out when the car stopped in traffic, he wouldn't and drove on.
