  • It's a shame you shifted into 3rd right before hitting 60mph. :)

  • my watch said 5.5, pretty fast

  • that's the Youtube's watch.

  • Dude if you watch the gauge on the left (i forgot the name) you start gunning it at 13 seconds in the video. And you don't get to 60 until 19 seconds that's 6 seconds not even close to 2

  • Right, BUT you don't start the count at 13. In other words, 13 is not the first second, but 14 is. 13 is point zero. It's little under 6 seconds.

  • You should actually be *over* 6 seconds on a stock 05 LGT 5EAT, being that a 5MT is around 5.7 seconds and especially because you didn't do a brake boost launch. I used a stopwatch and you're around 6.6 here.

  • You probably started the count when the rpms started climbing rather than the tach ;)

  • i started it there because you *can't* start from when your speedometer starts moving. between 0-20, the spacing is smaller than between all the others (40-60, 60-80, 80-100). you can actually be moving at below 5 mph and it won't register on your speedo. look at my own video and you'll see what i'm talking about. you can see the car start moving through my window before the speedo even registers, and you can clearly tell i've started slipped the clutch already while boost builds up.

  • The car wasn't moving until the tach started. The 5EAT has a high-stall torque converter, the revs will climb before the car starts to really move.

  • listen, i'm not trying to put you down, but you're simply wrong. a bone stock 05 LGT with 5EAT doesn't do 0-60 under 6, *especially* without brake boosting (or power braking, whatever you want to call it)

  • Well, there's this video. Regardless, now that I'm Stage 2+, I should probably post an updated one. Rest assured however that I did manage to pull a quicker time than mags. Turbo cars are influenced by many factors such as elevation, outside temp, heatsoak. It was on a brisk morning and I'm at around 1100 feet elevation. The video is the video is the video, enjoy it as it is and don't read too much into it ;)

  • If you still think I'm wrong, just do some searching on the LGT forums for 5eat 0-60 and see what people are actually getting with something more accurate and consistent than a stopwatch and youtube video like we're doing.

  • Have a look on the boards, I've been there a while now :) Username is fishbone

  • @invar1 didn't motortrend and car and driver give it a 5.5 or 5.6 0-60 time?

  • @justinchodge Yea an automatic, not a gt

  • @SansooIan the car in the vid is a GT.

  • @f1shbone haha yea i was pointng out on a normal manual and auto(Non GT) the 0-60 is btw 5-6 seconds. I own a 09 QSM 2.5 Gt and my buddy owns a non turbo S.E. manual. We've tested the theory dozens of times

  • @f1shbone Theres literally only 2 second difference btw a Gt and normal S.E.

  • @SansooIan 2 seconds is kind of a lot.

  • the tach is the RPMs...?

  • the tach shows rpms dude

  • Not exactly sure what you are referring to when you say 2. The video title states "Round 2", which means I have another acceleration video. This is the second one. I'm not claiming 2 second acceleration, that would be insane :)

  • LMAO!

  • some please tell me, i thought a stock 2005 legacy 2.5gt puts out 250 horsepower. Is this true ?

  • Yes, stock 2005 automatic is rated at 250 but many deem it underrated from the factory based on the numerous dynos we have seen. With the new revised SAE measures, the new Legacy GT still puts out 245 horsepower, so go figure. For all intents and purposes, yours is rated at 250 horsepower.

  • i see you also had a nissan altima. which one is quicker? altima or legacy?

  • Overall, hands down the Legacy. Stock for stock it does better in all conditions, the Altima, being FWD, would need perfect conditions to launch good and keep up, not to mention performance in snow, rain, etc. AWD > FWD. That being said, from a roll, the Altima has a slight edge. Look at what a Legacy traps in the quarter mile compared to an Altima. They are very close. Having said that, my Legacy is Stage 2 now and will blow away a lot of cars, both from a dig and a roll, Altima included ;)

  • nice looking dash

  • As far as I know the dashboard was designed for Subaru by Defi and has their gauges.

  • i just raced my friends gt once again haha... put three cars on him.

    45-110.

3rd car was around 100 and still pulling.

  • The situation is basically reversed for me, now that my Legacy is at Stage 2. Same outcome with the new Maxima too, actually. I pull from the get-go and never really slow down.

  • Sure, if I had my maxima. Just sold it. I will be buying a 02 c5 z06. I am still debating because most of us might get laid of by our company.

  • Ouch, sorry to hear that. Good luck to you. If Nebraska didn't get snow I'd sport a rwd as well. My LGT now stg2 is at about 330hp. Need to dyno it sometime and get a real protune vs etune. I'm good for 5.2 0-60 about now with no launch

  • it's only for the better man. Tucson is a S.H.I.T.H.O.L.E, there are many engineering jobs available in California so i might be moving there pretty soon. Right now I am driving my R6 LOL!

  • Wow Congrads your car is suffering from Beastiality lol , car is F$%^king Fast Great Job! We will miss the altima though forever

  • The video is back from when it was stock, it is now Stage 2. Come next spring and the weather is better I'll do a new acceleration vid. She pulls 5.2 - 5.4 to 60 consistently.

  • I raced a stock 2007 legacy gt today in my 2002 Nissan maxima. I won by many car lengths, couldn't determine how many because i was paying attention to the road.

  • Good for you. How do you know it was a GT? I have a feeling he wasn't racing you, 2002 Altimas are fairly easy to take down in a stock GT, especially from a dig.

  • I am not trying to put down the gt. I think the gt is very sexy and fast. I know for a fact it was a gt. I believe it had a "GT" emblem on the right side on the tail. He dumped the clutch at <3k and launched his car. I have a 6 speed, what does the gt's have? 5 or 6. My maxima has intake, exhaust, ecu tune and headers. Just the basic boltons.

I have no reason to lie to any of you, it is just the reality. Do your math and compare the numbers, that alone proves a maxima will outperform in a drag.

  • You should have been more specific, the natural inclination was to think the guy in the GT wasn't trying. I guess it's all in your mods, which makes me wonder the reason of your post, actually. Say, wanna try out my Stage 2 Legacy? ;)

  • This is a nifty car. I wish my dad would have sprung for something a little better than his H4 outback. Oh welll.

I think it's kinda funny how people have to try and count the acceleration. Anyone who's been driving for a while should be able to tell the difference between a 5 sec 0-60 and a 7 sec 0-60 just from watching the speedo.

  • Outbacks are awesome. Sometimes I wish I had all that cargo space. Our future family car will be a Forester.

  • lol i like your comment on all gts being turbo... who was the fucking moron who said there was a n/a gt lmfao moron.

    and nice car btw :D

  • does the legacy come with a damping system because i was looking at one and it had one but i have only seen that one i was just wondering if it was stock

  • What do you mean by damping system?

  • there is a bit lag when floor down. But, it quickly rev up to redline when the turbo engaged. good engine with good chassis.

  • Lag is mostly perceived because it is primarily due to the automatic transmission. On a manual, there is hardly any lag at all

  • Wow... That thing really likes to keep the revs up high. Nice.

  • well thats not entirely true the 02's did not come with a turbo...my cousin had one and did not have a turbo

  • Sorry, I meant to say the new generation Subarus.

  • damn that was quicker than i expected i was under the impression that the 05 gts did NOT have a turbo..i could b wrong

  • Thanks. Actually, all GTs are turboed.

  • coming from someone with a name like wart... at least my name is a funny character

  • automatic =/ but none the less awes0me legacy!!

  • f1shbone, it was not sarcasm. And it was not meant to be rude in anyway. I seriously wanted to know, because I'll be driving it in the summer time. I just wanted to know some of the capabilities that it has. I read about it, and it seems to be a solid car. Sorry, if I offended you, it was not meant to be rude.

  • Nice. My Grandma has exact same model. How much HP stock for this model? Can it drift? Oh yeah, is it better to go with the auto/manual trans that the automitic version offers? I heard you get better performance...

  • Wow triumph, your sarcasm and irony was almost too subtle. ALMOST :)

    That was quite idiotic.

  • "eh, real impressive. learn to drive stick homo"

    Your a moron.

  • yeh, real impressive. learn to drive stick homo. i have a 2007 legacy gt, unfortunately the dealer was out of the female edition

  • Man, you're a real fag. You like talking like a big man on the internet, don't you?

  • Actually you could say I was born on sticks. Learned to drive sticks, owned nothing but sticks up until not long ago. However, for daily drivers I will own nothing but automatics and keep my sticks for the week-end fun cars. You're still a deuchebag though.

  • its actually spelled "douchebag"

  • Still doesn't change the fact you are one. Congratulations, you're still a douchebag, AND a grammar Nazi :)

  • is it faster than ur altima

  • That's a loaded question. Back when it was stock like in this video it was on par with my Altima in a straight line. In rain, snow or twisties though it will blow the doors off a FWD Altima and now that it is modded, in a straight line too.

  • o just wondering cuz my friend has an altima and like a week ago we raced a legacy gt and we got him by about 3 cars

    mods on altima

    intake.headers,exhaust

  • An Altima with those mods will take down a stock Legacy GT, especially an automatic and especially from a roll so I am not surprised. Good kill for your friend! My conservative stage 2 now puts down over 260hp at the wheels and around 270lb-ft of torque.

  • well the bov valve on the gt was pretty loud so idk if it was stock...

ohhhh how much did u pay for it???

    wut year is it??

  • Legacies don't have BOV, they have BPV which don't blow off any air in the atmosphere, they recirculate it in the exhaust, so you don't hear anything. Generally a BOV is a bad idea so if that guy had a BOV, it's possible his car was running like crap.

  • what you think youre more of a man because you can shift gears? wow that is the most childish thing I have ever heard. So youre saying a Ford Lightning is a female truck since its automatic?

  • Im just saying that I dont like automatics. I didnt mean to offend anyone. Ha.

  • Owning manual is one thing. Knowing how to drive one is another. aewart27, I could probably teach you a thing or two. Just because my daily driver is an auto doesn't mean I don't know manual. Actually, I already addressed your previous stupid comment.

  • WOW its an automatic. Sounds completely stock. Thats pretty sick.

  • Sounds stock because it is stock :)

  • Worthy of a video on here I guess.

  • Nice!

  • Bone stock, automatic, 5EAT just like yours :)

  • wow wut do u have in that thing i have a 5eat too

  • Bring it by so i can race yah with my XT ;) Congrats by the way...

  • Yes, I had to part with the Altima. I like the Legacy GT better. Much nicer interior, stronger motor. I will miss the Altima V6 though. That VQ was awesome.

  • Did you rid yourself of your Altima?

  • Unfortunately it got totaled. I got hit in the back pretty good.
