  • I bought a Roland vs 1680 to start off with, but I don't know how to use it, any help?

  • Hey there

The JX 305 , is this one midi software usable like for example a mc505 or a 808?

Becose the mc 303 isnt usefull with midi software. And i have a CS2X yamaha , dsame story there , i get the 128 standard sounds wich are not usefull for me.

And i want to buy a JX 305. I hope its 100% midi software usable?

    Thx

  • @AMVST do you need an amp for the krks?

  • @amohkoj

These are passive monitors, so yes, you need a amo for these.

  • Do you just use your studio for personal private stuff??

  • @flashpadxxx

Mostly yes. I did release some material with Bonzai Limited, but my partner in music had an accident just before the release, and took all the fun out of making professional music. I use it mostly now producing music software, and making content voor Image Line Fl Studio.

  • I have one question ... I plan to buy a Creative Labs E-MU 1212M ... I see you wrote that you have this sound card .... and can you give me advice whether to buy this card?....This question is very important .... thanks in advance

  • @seeboom85

Depends on what you are going to do or how big your budget is...I think personally the card is very good and stable, haven't had an issue yet. I think nobody can beat the value of the card. With an ADAT interface it get's even better. 8 ins and outs. The Berhinger ADA8000 is perfect for that.

  • I also have the MDX2100 - how do you use yours? I'm mostly using mine for pre-vocoder compression and limiting, but want another (maybe a 4 channel) for drums and mix-downs...

  • @tmanisaur

I use it mainly for producing loops. I run loops I made in FL ( I use FL Studio for loop creation only) through the Soundcraft mixer and MDX2100 and record it into the Roland to get a analog/less digital sound to it, I love the EQ on the Soundcraft. Also I use it to blend drums on the AKAI S1100 when making loops. I do not use it when producing music.I think the soundprocessing is a bit dull for that.

  • nice setup

  • Not sure you need all of that.

BTW how is your Patchmix working, any glitches or loss of audio?

  • Nice little set up you have there.I have a vs1680 myself.Great little machine.

  • I do not have a hiss....I have very thick copper cables, and a Philips 900 series amp. Might be your amp, or maybe you have some eq somewhere in between?

  • Alright cool, thanks a lot for the info. I'l try em out with different cables or a better amp if I can get my hands on one. Have a great day!

  • hey I have those same monitors, love em, but do your ST8's have any small hiss when you playback? I dunno if mine are damaged now :( or if it's the cables (14 gauge pro co cables) or my Samson servo-170 85 wat amp that is the problem. Let me know if you can, thanks!

  • Nice setup what do you use to power ur passive studio monitors??

  • I use a Philips 900 series Amp.

  • Well done.

  • I use a VS-880,, was thinking of upgrading to the 1680, but I really would like to get a 2480

  • I guess the more tracks the better, expecially if you do not like to ping pong channels around. I am quite happy though with my 1680 with the latest firmware. I bought that second hand for about 500 bucks, I guess they should come cheaper even now.

  • nice setup :)

  • Nice setup! Question about the Roland VS-1680: if you already have a 1212m why would you also use an external HD recorder?
