  • What I think is hilarious is that the authors of this book promote a vegan diet but if you read Skinny Bitch in the Kitch, some of their recipes call for eggs or egg whites.

  • amazing review thank you sooo much!!!!!!! I love being Vegan because killing animals is just soo cruel I mean at least to me , I love my Dogs!

  • after reading this book i was like...ok...sooo....what can i eat?i am really scared of eating soy and stuff...because of the soryes and stuff

  • agave syrup is a vegan sweetener and i love the taste i think its made from a type of cactus

  • wait are you kidding? the whole point of the book was showing how horrible meat and dairy is for you - the difference between that and preaching is that they had actual facts about it. facts that they're sharing with you because they want you to be healthy. and if you read it you'd realize that "expensive" means you're investing in your body holy crap do you have any idea what you're reading? pay attention

  • Omfg!! how could someone do that to the poor hog, i eat meat but im deffo going to be more cautious :| :(

  • Why is it non-vegetarians think that vegans and vegetarians are all trying to get you to 'convert' and we never get meat-eaters trying to get us to eat meat? Maybe you who think it's a one-way street should spend a few weeks telling your friends you're now vegan and see what insults etc. you receive.

You don't see the other side because a) you're on that side and b) it's the majority.

  • throw that turkey burger away mamas!!!!

  • I'm 16 and vegan! VEGANS RULE!!!

  • well the images that came into your head are images of reality. sadly enough. if you guys wanna eat meat, just eat local, organic, anti biotic free meat, ect.

personally, I am vegan and raw.

  • VEGAN RAW RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Molasses is a great way to sweeten food (naturally). Combined with whole grain, it's very effective against fighting tumors.

  • WATCH "EARTHLIGNS"!!!!!! A VERY VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTARY!!!!!

  • No one ever said that you couldn't drink soda and eat meat and walk around "just fine", but don't use that to try to make a case for these things not being detrimental to ones' health. Many people consume dangerous things like alcohol, too much fried food, and they are fine for a while but the majority do suffer the cancer, liver disease, heart attacks, high blood pressure, strokes, etc. that were brought on by their unhealthy habits.

  • i dont mean to be insensitive, but alot of those animals are bread for that, its not like they pluk em from the wild paradise.

  • ...I'm not even gonna touch that book.

Poor things.....humans are disgusting, honestly. Worse than animals.

  • The truth is harder to swallow than your turkey burger! This book gives it to you straight. What's the value of reading just what you want to hear? We don't learn anything by just sticking to what we've already heard. Have an open mind and search your conscience also when considering the things Skinny Bitch brings up - these are facts. We need to deal with them intelligently.

  • yeah, but the book misguides you. You buy it thinking it's a diet book, but it ends up turning into some crazy vegan preaching bible. It's just two vegans who want everyone else to be vegan so they don't feel so stupid

  • ill never eat any meat products ever again after reading it im now veagen

  • To be fair, they are right to say that meat, even the best meat and inorganic food, causes cancer. All research has shown that grownth hormones and pesticides are harmful. Just because you don't feel ill, doesn't mean that your body is well. The only reason organic food tends to run so expensive is because the USDA and FDA don't want us to eat healthy. Why would they when the food we eat makes us so sick that we'll be dependent on drugs that make us sicker for life?

  • it been eating meat and drinking diet soda (loaded with aspratame) for about 15 and a half years. and im still walking and doing fine

  • infact, ive only been on antibiotics once for an ear infection when i was 5

  • The things in the book were gross, but true. I wish this had been fiction, but if you watch a documentary called "Meet You Meat", will will see visuals that will really scare and scar you vegan. Its sick how we treat animals and even more sick how very minimal standards for cleanliness of meat are in the U.S.

  • I am a vegan and have read "Skinny Bitch" I liked your review you seemed to give good pros and cons.

Many times I tried to info people not push my ideas. But it seems that if I mention anything bad about meat and meat products, people think that I am trying to push my ideas, even when they ask me why I am vegan or when they make rabbit jokes.

  • I agree with you I checked the first page in a bookstore before meeting a friend I thought it was dieting advices. Few months later I check on the internet remembering about it and I found out it is a pro-vegan book. i do not specially eat meat anymore but I do not believe that going vegan will make you skinny, I know vegans that are p muscle free looking.. like fat .

  • Before I read this book, I had already been on the path to becoming vegan (for health reasons). This book gave me the motivation I need to actually make the change. People who work in factory farms are filthier than the animals.

  • you can always use a raw cane organic sugar, or agave nectar. they're both very good for you. and you can also just add a bit of almond milk, it should come in a vanilla flavor.

  • Why is aspartame bad?

  • Because it is a chemical it causes cancer and such

  • OMG! I was about to buy this book thinking it was about dieting!! I read some on amazon!!Thank god I decided to see some reviews on youtube... :/ OMG!!

  • Yeah, its more about eating unprocessed and vegan, than a "diet" book. I learned a lot of interesting things from it though... good luck

  • @biohanydesi OMG You care more about your weight than whether what you eat is causing pain and suffering!

  • I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU 100%

  • Diet books drive me nuts because they all contradict each other. Yes Organic is the best but what confuses me is one will be for grains and another not. One will be for dairy and another not. One will be for soy and another not. All have valid points but are extrememly confusing! Eat mostly raw natural whole food and stay away from things you are allergic to and you should be good. If anything causes you IBS stay away from it or find it in a raw form which contains enzymes to help break it down

  • "vegetarian mythologies"?

  • damn right its expensive!

  • Oh yeah

  • If you don't want to use artifcial sweeteners try honey or agave nectar

  • thanks for the tip. I'm using Stevia right now, I've been meaning to try agave nectar though.

  • Yes Avoid aspartame! Avoid Msg(mono sodoium glutamate!) Drink Organic milk and dairy at the least. Try using Stevia like knitty said, there's also stuff called Agave Nectar, it's really very good, You can use it with anything that requires sugar. Avoid Aspartame!

  • I have been avoiding aspartame! I've actually become really cautious about consuming it. Stevia is amazing and I'm glad some companies are deciding to use it in their products.

  • I eat mostly organic and I'm vegan. And it doesn't really cost much at all.

I understand how you don't like people preaching. But it seems like what they preached really made an impact.

  • I'm a student so I can't really splurge on food too much right now. I don't eat completely awful right now, but I definitely see myself becoming mostly organic aswell :o). Baby steps!

  • I loved this book!

They suggest sugar substitutes somewhere in there (for your tea). I am a huge fan of stevia. I have seen it along side all the artificial sweeteners under the brand name Truvia but I haven't tried that brand yet. The stevia I have was in the supplement section of a health food store, where it is usually suggested.

  • I've been hooked on Truvia for months! thanks!
