Why do people think that the water is going to hurt the motor??? I've swamped mine many times, oil change, pull the plug turn over a couple times, put plug back in and drive!!!! And water only goes down the pipe till it hits the valve, unless you have motor problems, it better stop there!!!!!!

Those people you call idiots prevent hydrolocking by shutting off the engine before the intake gets underwater, positive pressure is at the exhaust end when the engine is running, not the intake. If you kill the engine before the water gets to the intake the air inside of the engine keeps the water from entering.

@valiumsummer no. it won't go to the shop. it will be pulled up the hill onto flat ground. it will be stood up on the rear racks to drain the exhaust. drop it back down on all four, pull the intake box plug, drain the carb bowl, pull the spark plug, pump water out of the cylinder...put it back together and roll out. that's a honda for ya. change the oil a couple times when you get her home.
