The busa actually came out in 98 right after the Honda 1100 beat the old speed king of that time the z x11 Kawasaki and it ran 196 mph everything else after that was speed limited you guys talk like newness do the research
im not going to give you any secert because there is none, alot of these guys are small an dont wiegh much also you have to consider some them are just better riders and know how to get up to speed quicker.
Hi Anthony, My brother has a zx 14 we ran it march 07 texas mile top speed 175 mph. My dad, brother and I ran it. It is under zx 14 raz. I have since purchased a zx 14. What is the secret it get it over 200 MPH?
wow , I have a blue zx 14 also and mine doesn't run like this one, fantastic speed. So what else have you done to the bike to make is so fast, obviously a speedo healer and then some :)
That's awesome. Thanks for posting. It is easy to go 190 but for every mph after that it get's more and more difficult. I can't imagine how difficult 260 mph is with a bored turbo Busa. Do ZX14s tolerate turbo's? Any known weaknesses in the motor?
The fastest ZX14 I have seen is Kevin Mullner at Texas Mile. He ran 230 mph with a Mr. Tubo kit. That is about 300-320 HP. Stock pistons are good for maybe 250 hp; stock rods good for 280-300 hp; crank max is unknown; stock clutch good for 260hp.
Thanks for the reply. I note that most of the bikes going over 220 mph are Hayabusas. Is this because they are more plentiful or is there something superior about the Hayabusa that makes it a better candidate for high speed? I understand that the Hayabusa was one the first production motorcycles to be designed with the aid of a wind tunnel and this is the reason it seems to have the edge in top speed. Is there some other reason the Hayabusa seem to go so well? Is the motor better than the ZX14.
@nomedeeps busa's have been made since 2000 and zx-14 has been made since 06' therfore, the hayabuse's motor is more famliar with people and more aftermarket pars have been produced.
nos;)) how many hp the the rear tyre now?? what size sprockets are you driving with?? when you are strapping the forks, is`t that bad for the forks in the long terme???
240 hp, 18/39 or 18/38, I use a strap unless there is a strong cross wind. I loosen the straps when not in use. Street riding with the front end strapped makes it handle pretty squirrely in corners.
You did an excellent job and the bike looks great. Keep at it. Great riding and video. Been slowly prepping my 14 for the Texas Mile. So far it's been dynoed to 208 hp at the rear wheel. Gotta get my bolts and fasteners wired down, metal chain guard and some straps. Hope to see you early this coming spring if you're there.
hey i am from tx. wondering where this was filmed? i want to ride there myself

now you have a turbo??? the strapping down and the rear elevation, is this helping the top speed?? meaning more aerodynamic?

Absolutely awesome. I would love to try this some day. Looked in to it but not possible for me at this time. Maybe someday.
