  • good ad but Andrew Forrest still sux!

  • That's it now get me a black persons opinion..... No more phoney Forrest hijacking every cause..... Why doesn't he just rob us blind like an honest thief or BHP would, without all the social conscience bullshit!

  • @MrCuntyballs2U well said :-)

  • my heart was so warmed by this positive message,

I guess I overlooked the coded message about 'real' jobs.

So imagine how I felt when I heard the truth about Generation One's found Andrew Forrest, who features in a disgraceful, disrespectful and entirely dishonourable role in this shocking footage:

  • why is it i instantly thought of the australian government canberra at the end of this video, seriously though its awesome that we are finally bridging the gap between indigenous australians and other australians :) keep up the awesomeness

  • I admire this girl for her confidence and courage. I personally don't believe there ought to be a gap, and I fully support Gen 1. I don't think it can be solved by throwing masses of money at it, we do enough of that and it isn't working. It begins with US. And reading through some of these racist comments, I really feel for those who made them. It must be hard to live life so ignorant. Didn't your mother ever tell you? If you don't have anything nice to say, DON'T SPEAK! Go Maddy, you inspire.

  • It saddens me to see some of these posts. I jumped on to do a bit of research re the Generation One campaign, optimistically thinking that things had changed, but the same fear, hatred and misunderstanding is still driving the colonial mentality. Yes the country has been transformed by 200 years of European settlement but there are many out there who haven't learnt anything and still believe it's all about a one-way form of integration? Isn't it about time we start listening to each other?

  • @ohlalabrouhaha exactly!

  • i am all for equality in australia, but what the aborigines have to remember is it is a two way street. they need to step up and make the difference, im sure the average white australian is willing to accept an aboriginal into the community, workplace, church etc. i definately am. they need to stop living in the past and holding this grudge against us... the fact is we are here, we have been for over 200 years, we not leaving now.. so integrate or go back to the outback. i hope 1gen works.

  • @kzorrable not a very nice thing to say :(

  • Why can't they try and get jobs on merit like everyone else. This is reverse racism. Why not have to pay for education? Free Health Care ? just because of colour of skin. Everyone should be treated equal, no matter what you look like, ( Our country ) as come a long way from years past. Why dwell on the past look for the future and stop looking for hand outs. Earn learn and try hard and see what happens.

  • @toddskisyd

yeah because 19000 people means nothing.

  • Exactly elizajj, those with less advantages should be supported by those more advantaged. Preconceived sterotypes should not be encouraged and everyone should be given a fair go. Of course this means ensuring that an equal standard of health care, education, housing, and support is available for all.

For the record 'zombie bigot' I'm white, why waste your time here when you could be renewing your Nazi party membership.

  • @zombiekiller117

    you mad?

The average white person doesn't face the issues of the indigenous and people of developing countries.

34% of aboriginal women, and 45% of aboriginal men die before the age of 45. The life expectancy of an aboriginal is 47-53 years old. The life expectancy of a white person living in Australia is 77.

How can you say they don't have issues and need our help?

Go away. We don't want you here. You'd make room for refugees if you go, and they'd do more good than you do.

  • Comment removed

  • @zombiekiller117 You're missing the point, love.

It's not that white people have to, it's nothing about the colour of their skin.

We're saying people who are more advantaged, which TENDS to be white people, should help the disadvantaged which TENDS to be Aboriginals.

I don't care if you were black or asian or green, if you can support someone who's less advantaged, you should. You have the responsibility to.

  • Way to go Maddy!

  • Dear grownups6 please stop replying to zombie killer. By replying you are only justifying its existence. Ignorant, narrow minded, uneducated bigots have no place on this page.

  • We are all Australian, the only way foward, to a stronger nation is to stand together. Indigenous Australians are the first Australians and the Hidden History of this nation teaches us that hate, ignornce and discrimination is destructive to all. I believe that the young people of Australia can lead us foward to a better place for everyone. However to do this we will need to open our minds, put aside our fears and ignorance and all work together.

  • @TonyAbbottOfficial I agree about not identifying based on skin colour, however and unfortunately there are alot of people who have a problem with colour and race. Zombiekiller is a good example on that issue. I have witnessed the ugliness of mistreatment towards people with dark skin and it is so awful to see when your own skin is white. It would be nice though to share culture and have equal opportunity, maybe even look at how the Maori's in New Zealand have introduced their culture.

  • @grownups6 hear hear!

  • @TonyAbbottOfficial Are you calling everyone born in this country, originally from india and Sri Lanka?

  • AUSTRALIA must immediately STOP all NON-WHITE immigration, and offer all non-Whites in Australia (excluding aboriginals) generous relocation packages to voluntarily leave Australia on condition they NEVER return.

  • @zombiekiller117 The problem with this, buying does not solve everything, when living in abject poverty with limited education people tend to be driven to desperate means. It's hard for you to understand, but try being in the shoes of anyone that is not what you classify yourself. What you don't understand, is what you fear, therefore often destroy. An expression that can be changed about and still mean the same.

  • This young lady is trying to be positive and promote a good cause. Sure there are people good and not so good in all races. How we respond sais something about ourselves. By trying to explain her own experiences is a good way to start, at least her heart is in the right place, moving forward. The video on 'Our Generation' speaks loudly and may make the unaware, aware.

  • Can't believe you would make such ignorant comments about this clip. If you dont agree with it or aren't interested in it, then why make the effort of searching for it and watching it again and commenting? Very lame.

    Proud! Successful! Aboriginal woman!

  • @kikis2204 She wants to 'close the gap' between Blacks and Aryans in Australia in 20 years?Problem is the WHITE people aren't just going to stand still.White people are going to continue advancing the fields of science, medicine, art and literature. At the rate ARYANS progress in 20 years time, IF abo's have caught up to 2010, then WHITE people will be LIGHT YEARS ahead.

You consider her a 'sucessful aboriginal women' THAT'S THE POINT.Her level of intelligence is ONLY what is Average for WHITES

  • @zombiekiller117

    What's your ethnic background?

  • @grownups6 My 'ethnic background' matters how ? Truth is truth whether it is spoken by a White man,or a Black man or an Asian man.

    And here is some truth.

White people are going to continue advancing the fields of science, medicine, art and literature. At the rate ARYANS progress, in 20 years time, IF abo's have caught up to 2010, then WHITE people will be LIGHT YEARS ahead.

They consider her a 'sucessful aboriginal women' THAT'S THE POINT.She's only 'Average' compared to WHITE ARYANS !!

  • @zombiekiller117, I wouldn't call technology as 'advancement', or claim Aryans as 'white' people either. Maybe consider educating yourself before making assumptions. There are no abo's here, either. The term is incorrect even when used in full, another error in calling a race, something they are not. Have you ever considered researching the architectural lifestyle of the first people's of this country. By the way, that young lady is only 13!

  • @grownups6 You are Anti-White.You think you are being Anti-racist but all you is ANTI-WHITE.Anti-racist = Anti-White.I do not write seek your approval.I write to tell the truth.

    This is truth.

WHITE children, and ONLY White children are continually required to apologuise for giving natives a steady food supply along with special benefits, social security and free health care, while receiving MILLIONS of 3rd Worlders and giving them special benefits, social security and free health care.

  • @zombiekiller117 No sorry, your wrong, again your assuming. I married a Dutch person, that does not make me anti-white. In fact Your truth is all you write, not the whole truth, get real. Go and get properly initiated in this country, find out that in the end people are people, the most destructive part is people like yourself, making barrier's. Children are the products of their parent's and generation before them, that's where they learn their views. There's always a price for benefits!

  • @grownups6 Married to a White person,so what ?You are ANTI-WHITE.The Polish living under communism were in 'abject poverty' but did not degenerate to the levels of baby rape and murder that infests the aboriginal community

'People are People' you say,UNLESS those people are WHITE.In which case they are required to give special benefits to a stoneage people, and say a bark humpy is equal to the Eifel tower or Notre Dame Cathederal. You denigrate the acheivements of WHITE people. You are ANTI-WHITE.

  • @zombiekiller117where do you get your information from? Are you a comedian? For your information, I am an artist, one that sees beauty beyond the aesthetic and can see straight through shallow people. Some of the most beautiful buildings ever built are found in India and Persia, just as beautiful as cathedrals in Europe. There are talented people all over the world, what you don't seem to understand, this is a video from Maddy, a young lady with morals, acknowledging the western ideal.

  • @zombiekiller117I said a Dutch person, once again you assumed. Have you ever seen children, notice skin colour when they play together. Why do you think they don't see skin colour or differences? Children start getting their views from their peers. Don't judge a book by it's cover, so why judge a person by another or by colour. Baby rape, do you not think it happensonly in communities. Do you realise child pornography is bigger than Ben Hur for the sake of a buck all over the world.

  • @grownups6 You are being ANTI-WHITE.You say children don't see skin colour but you advocate that people with WHITE skin are obliged to give special benefits, social security and free health care to people with BLACK skin. You apply DOUBLE STANDARDS.Skin colour doesn't matter,UNLESS that skin colour is WHITE.

YOU are ANTI-WHITE.The DUTCH are INDIGENOUS to Europe but they don't get special benefits because of their Indigenous status.Frenchman in France don't get special benefits, why should abo's ?

  • @zombiekiller117 Whatever, stop assuming. Do your homework. Too ignorant to learn. Feel sorry for you. Apart from that, the current education system hasn't done any favours to you, have they?

  • @grownups6 zombiekiller117 doesn't get the point, so sad, i thought we were living in civilised australia but some parts of the population aka zombiekiller are pulling the country back 100 years :(

  • @zombiekiller117To ask your ethnic background or even how you are raised, still carries baggage, just sais alot about who you are. So far what you write is really not giving you much credit as your unable to see beyond your own assumptions. Mentioning advancement in those fields, does not mean a race is light years ahead either. What are you afraid of?

  • @TonyAbbottOfficial Prove me 100% wrong before you call me a "blatant" liar, obviously you do not understand the word. I'm afraid to say that you are blatantly naive. To add insult to injury, the very people you were trying to "defend" have turned on you. There's no point trying to bridge social rifts, because there are none. Truth is they are pseudo social rifts, brought about by lounge chair activists such as yourself and by victims who choose to victimise themselves most of the time.

  • Thanks to all the bleeding heart replies I have received. You lot just confirmed what I was already getting at, "me,me,me, I'm so hard done by, more so than any other race or culture". P.S. - I wasn't overtly instigating in my comments but I sure copped a lot of "uneducated bigot" or words to that effect. I have physical and emotional scars from many unprovoked Aboriginal attacks on me from when I was 8 - 17, and for this I won't forget what was done to me either you bunch of fucking hypocrits.

  • If you want a future, if you want to earn a living you can. There is NOTHING standing in the way of an Aboriginal working a full time, respectable job, however the useless fucking australian government will give Aboriginals free money but no incentive of actually finding work.

Im sick of the Aboriginals claiming they are treated poorly, get a fucking education, get a fucking job and move on. Australia is as multicultural as they get, there is no prejudice, there is no discrimination.

  • @shagmaster1 racism stands in the way of an aboriginal working full time. and the conditinos many are brought up in due to their history..

  • @Nickjaa What a load of shit.

Aboriginals are no different to any other nationality. Its people like you who claim they should be subject to special treatment who are holding them back. Any excuse to live a life on the tax payers dime.

If an Aboriginal works hard they possibilities are limitless, just like for a caucasion, a black person, an indian, an asian anyone of any race can make a life for themselves if they only choose to do so

  • @shagmaster1 nar.

  • @Nickjaa hehe

  • @shagmaster1 Spot on mate, but it's easier to blame a generation of people who had nothing to do with it than to proactively better themselves. Why put in the hard yards when you can stand there with your hand out and have people falling over themselves trying to do whatever you want to make you happy? It would be interesting to know how many Aboriginals are in our defence force actively fighting for our dual flag democracy like the "bad white men", because I haven't seen or met one yet.

  • look guys, i dont mean to discriminate against anyone... but the indinous rate of employment would be alot better is you, i dont know maybe finish school... 12% of all indinous people FINISH year twelve. only 2% go to university. call me crazy but finishing school looked good on my resume.

  • @TonyAbbottOfficial You poor silly redneck wake up smell the roses google the truth, India my arse and get your self an original name!! ps I don't know where you get your info from but I would definitely be looking for a new source because at the moment all your achieving is looking like a total wombat!!!!!!!!!! put that in your pipe an smoke it numbat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If everyone agrees that we are all Australia, than it doesn't matter whether they say they are from this place or that place. Stop judging them for another person mistakes or struggle. No one is asking for benefits. But just acknowledge where someone is from and respect and treat them as equals.

We are Australians, everyone is a mate as we don't judge people until we know them.

  • @TonyAbbotOfficial...I'm wondering if my turning a blind eye - not doing anything to help - is a bad thing. I mean, I accept everybody. If I was at work and the new guy/ girl was introduced and they happened to be Aboriginal, it wouldn't make any difference to me. I don't care where people come from or who they partner up with, as long as they know their job and they aren't rude, I can work with them.

  • @TonyAbbotOfficial Also, why do Aboriginals need to define themselves as individuals? Is it because there are working and dole-bludging Aboriginals just as there are working and dole-bludging white Australians? I hope you're not detecting angst in my voice becasue there is none. I'm genuinely wanting to know more.

  • @TonyAbbotOfficial Please tell me more, I'm keen to learn. How am I biased? What is making me biased? I'm not Aboriginal - but I have the blood of about 5 different countries in me. My point was that adress didn't say anything about 'handouts'. What's your point, darling?

  • i want the black cunts to be eradicated

    boat people > abo's

they get more from the doll then white cunts do for working 5 days a week

an because we "stole their land" they have more benefits then white australian's do, they are above the law, that is my reason for the smelly cunts to be eradicated <3

  • It's easy for you all to criticise and judge. Imagine how you would feel today if someone knocked on your door, ripped the earth from under your feet, shot your grandparents raped your mother, your sister, took you and placed you in a home with other children with the same horrific experience, forbid you from speaking your language, & talking about your family, beat you, tried to brain-wash you, used your mother as a slave. Destroyed everything you had and knew about yourself, ur land, ur future

  • @something0080 Imagine you are a member of a RACE of SUPER INTELLIGENT MEN who explore the world, explore outer space, invent cures for disease, build civilisations, believe in objective truth and who go around wishing everyone well from sunup to sundown.Imagine being told that you 'owe' an illiterate race(who made no effort to improve themselves for 40,000 years)This illiterate race rapes their own babies and were canabiles.

How would you feel being told you guilty because you are smart and kind ?

  • @TonyAbbottOfficial - It's unfortunate that your lack of understanding about any of the issues you have discussed has led you to have far more racist views than the ones you are criticising- but that's the case with most racially prejudice people like yourself . I urge you to get some education before making a fool of yourself here.

  • I think this is ridiculousness. This girl IS AUSTRALIAN. We are all AUSTRALIAN. By saying "I'm from the gadigal people blah blah" is like trying to say there are different tiers of Australians. There are not! Regardless of your skin colour or heritage, if you're born and raised in Australia then you are Australian.

By saying that you deserve more attention/support because your skin colour and heritage you are the one that's being racist.

  • @supadox yeah but their race has more problems than the white race. so they need more help.

  • @supadox were the Aboriginals of Australia considered Australian before colonisation?

  • @supadox Maybe Australians should start calling themselves aboriginals as they were here before. Aboriginals didn't choose to live the life of white people, it was imposed. White people has a way to fix the problem by giving money but they forget that more important that giving money, which creates another problem, it's to connect with aboriginals in a spiritual way. If you really think the girl is racist then you're living a very untruthful life.

  • Have you ever put in practice the word "embracing". You're right about history, but it doesn't mean it was right. English, French, Dutch, Belgian did horrible things to people in the past, were they right? Also it's not about being a victim. There are issues, Number one DENIAL. Number two Lack of passion and knowledge to learn about a culture that lives in your backyard, a culture that goes around the world and amazed people. Number 3 lack of wanting to embrace, to love.

  • @robertomezamont well put :)

  • I think everyone here is forgetting what has happened in the last 200 years. Not that long ago. Listen to the stories of their ancestors being massacred, brutally raped. Their grandparents being stolen from their families never 2 see them again, imagine being prevented from speaking the only language you know, to never speak of your culture, your family stories. To know that your grandmother was raped, spat at, refused entry into public places, beaten. A slave to another race that destroyed yrs.

  • @something0080 You make it sound like the native americans were never hard done by, or that the French never slaughtered their way across old Europe, or the Jews enslaved by the Egyptians, or even between 1939 to 1945. These cultures have all moved on and accepted that it is history and it has happened, sure it's a sad time in their histories but they've moved on. We don't on a daily basis remind the Germans or the Japs of what they done to us 70 years ago, not 200. Double racial standards.

  • @ShadyMotley Have you ever put in practice the word "embracing".

  • but what you don't understand is that these things are still happening today in our society, and we are trying to bring all Australians together, and make a change.

  • @ShadyMotley - Yes there have been acts of brutality carried out across the world, but in case you haven't realised the topic of conversation here is AUSTRALIA and the indigenous people of this land. It doesn't help to put all issues of war and invasion across the world into one category. They are all very different and need to be dealt with differently- no two cases are the same and there is not room here to talk about all of them individually.

  • @ShadyMotley - It is unfortunate that you have this narrow minded view of how things should be rather than an understanding of why things are the way they are. The fact is that Aboriginal people are in the situation they are in due to a set of events that have occurred up until now. Without an understanding of what has happened and how it has effected them it is almost impossible for this country to move forward, together.

  • ....gubverment

  • Aye ya fuccckin dawg daaaaaawg meh country meeeh country n i eat shit sleep in shit dream of piss drink piss but not enuff money to buy me slab everyday so gov need to giv more money

  • @sydneian24 although point taken about some of the other comments on here

  • @sydneian24 a person in a disadvantaged position should receive the same benefits reguardless of race. Jesus christ you sound like nelson mandela.

  • All the races that still live in the bush.forrest, woods etc have not evolved with the rest of society and will not evolve even if they wanted to!!!! These are our ancesters and therfore they must be the missing link to our species. Neandertholds?? So if you believe in evolution this would make sense!

  • Aboriginals have already had sorry said to them, they get more benefits than other aussies and have their OWN specific health centres, dentists, counselors and some jobs are available ONLY to them. Look I'm not racist, but if you want equality, start being equal with the rest of us and stop trying to make us feel guilty or ostracising YOURSELVES from the rest of our society.

  • @ShadyMotley I agree about equality, that is exactly what this video is about, you see unless your educated, those so called benefits are out of reach. For those in the NT, vouchers are there option. To be asked whether your aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background is agovernment requirement, where do you think the segregation started? Honestly the culture that has been in this country way longer than colonisation is about caring for the future generations, we are all custodians.

  • im in the burbs and all i see is abo's sniffin paint and askin for metho, or swearing at their kids, fuckin disgusting...

  • What do they want? Money, Jobs, special treatment? I thought they already have all 3.

  • Great add & thank you Andrew Forrest, this man has been around blackfella and has a understanding and he dosen't paint everybody with the same brush. I am white but i dont class myself as the dole bluggen drunk dirty whitetrash that i see around....and I dont class every black fella the same either......

  • I had nothing against aboriginals until i had to put up with their shit. I wasn't racist but they gave me a reason to be. (Not just one aboriginal but every single one I've ever met has been a waste of space)

  • @thenulanula none of my comments were derogatory. Just because you can't accept the past, and move on with your life by getting a job and contribute to society, doesnt mean Australia has to listen to you whining. Finally, you couldnt answer any of my basic question and resorted to "im not talking to you any more". mature....

  • @1111Davo1 Well that's the fist thing of any intelligence you said yippee your not going to talk to me anymore and again yippee!! ps dopey I've been a lifeguard for the past 26 year's looking after the community grow up schoolboy and please do what you said don't talk to me again once again yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)~

  • @thenulanula umm you said *you* wouldn't talk to me, not the other way around. Yet again, you've tried to get the last word.

  • In order for there to be equality there must be equal treatment of all, from both sides of the fence. Non-indigenous people need to give aboriginals a fair go. But aboriginals need to step up with the rest of society "global society" because if you don't want to live a nomadic lifestyle like your ancestors, then you intern, accept the responsibilities of a modern society. But lets be truly honest here, no modern aboriginal could now live without modern creature comforts and the 95% of you that

  • @thorpie2206 EXACTLY!!

  • All you southerners need to come visit somewhere like townsville or cairns and see what really happens, its completely different, you make your bed you sleep in it, i dare you come to my town and your mind will be forever scarred by what you see, oh but im white its my fault this all happened to aboriginals, im sorry that rudd said sorry, because im not, p.s were did my fishing rods and reals go, and the dogs toys and my gucci clothes off the line and my chrome hubcaps, to the blacks behind me

  • You are the best

  • Of all the places the goverment could have gone in an attempt to reach an accepting community of people who would be willing to do their part in achieving equality, they chose YouTube. Nicely done.

  • This is more of a poll because im interested to see the outcome. During my life and being observent I can honestly say that Ive only seen a couple (if that) of Indigenous Australians out there working.

My question is: Thumbs up if you have never or rarely seen Indigenous Australians out there in the work force be it either at your work or on leisure days.

  • kk i want to debunk this ad with the 500 characters i can fit in. Firstly the young lady does not talk about the issues facing Aust Indiegiouns + we all face incredable amounts of shit in our lives NO MATTER WHO YOU R. Secondly the real job stuff its a fact that the majority of indegnious aust are UNDER qualifed for carrers thats why the government pay them to attend school WTF. finally inequallity indegiouns culture is all around us and apparently all we can do is throw money at it???

  • @jesusorder10 you are not a christian if you talk like that. Aside from the fact that this has nothing to do with gay rights...gay marriage is already outlawed, unfortunately. Besides, if you followed the bible to the letter you would find many contradictions, this is because the bible was written a long time ago (by man) for an extinct culture and does not translate into the present day.

  • Gimmeee gimmeee gimmeeeee because I am too useless to get it on my own.

  • These days, we've all got the same problems, regardless of nationality or skin colour. When i was growing up, i went to a small country school in north queensland, there was me and another white boy in the whole class, so if you think im being racist, im not, and lemme tell you, EVERYONE, regardless of colour can be mean, nasty and racist

  • @1111Davo,

Couldn't agree more, maybe like uni students indigenous youth should also be offered generous scholarships to undertake vital apprenticeships. This is where such money should be diverted to not sending in AJs to remote communities.

PS. Besides AFL and NRL other sporting codes could also look at promoting their sport to indigenous people as they do have great genetics for atheletics.

  • @91bez i heard someone trying to get Indigenous Australians into athletics like 100m sprints, marathon etc. which would be good.

  • PS. She listed ways that people could help by being inclusive and welcoming; she didn't say anything about money or special handouts. You aren't allowed to walk into someone's camp and do whatever you like and not pay for it.

  • Wow I can't believe how many negative comments there are. So sad. Everyone deserves a go, even people who stuff up and make mistakes. A leopard can change their spots. Give it a try and you'll feel so right for it. Xx

  • gilla mate give me back ma wife's cardigan orrite?

  • trying not to be racist but its the only way it can get across. its good some aboriginals are actually working instead of living on the dull and spending their weeks earning on beer and smokes instead of actually HELPING their kids. sure there are aboriginals that don't do this but with the overall percentage against it that it doesn't matter and a 2 min add telling them to get a life wont work... its just the trust, its just people can't handle it.

  • what this aobut??

  • The first step for Indigenous Australians to better themselves is to stop feeling sorry for themselves. And before you say I'm racist, I'm Aboriginee myself.

  • @lordilson epic comment.

  • If the "government" wanted equality , it would have happened decades ago !

What the government pays for it gets. This generation-one is designed to rid

the native australians from our land. It's just another new world order scam designed to fool the public.

    People need to wake up to this "generation-one , one-community , one-world

    phrases.

  • "Nice idea, unfortunately I have been assaulted totally with provocation both times it was drunken "Native owners"

  • "Sorry the term is "Traditional Owners" and I was victimised twice once aged 16, and then at 33 ,and they did not have to pay for my dental bills, as a 16 yo my poor struggling parents had to "Cope" with that one"

  • Aboriginals have the highest funding per capita of any indigenous people in the world.

  • @Gazmanaust

have you ever wondered why ???

  • @Gazmanaust What a load of ill-informed rubbish

  • Im regretful (Thank god John Howard didnt say sorry.. It wasnt his fault..)... I've seen how much money, time and effort is given to alot of Aboriginal's, and what happens...? They burn down the houses built for them, drink their money away in alcohol and whinge cause they think they deserve more....!!!

  • @TheActivated @TheActivated It happens in the white community to it's called housing commission!! and how many white families do you see in some of these GUBBAMENT assisted houses with 2 cars a boat and earning $80,000 grand a year?? but people like you only see what they want to see!! and if it's the the KOORI community it hit's the front page so people just like you can just on the bandwagon say hey these KOORI's are a band bunch!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheActivated "(Thank god John Howard didnt say sorry.. It wasnt his fault..)" - exactly. It wasnt ours either.

  • huh? this girl talks about aboriginals as if they are some sort of freaks or outcasts. "making us feel more welcome at work" what the hell is that about? we are all people, if you want to help people then ads should be run about helping all disadvantaged, not just on one specific race.

  • @faxmachineman1000

    nice comment.... 1000 percent true....

  • @omgitslukky07 - isnt it always the ones that look more white than aboriginal that are the most outspoken? how many of the so called aboriginal pollies or major leaders that look as white as me

  • @ceefood73 If your KOORI and you have always identify as a KOORI and are accepted by your people as KOORI, what's the difference if your black brown fair-skinned!! After all wasn't it a white fella policy to try and breed as out?

  • Why do they keep picking the Aboriginals that look the most Caucasian? If you go to the GenerationOne website, you will see that most of the Aboriginal people modeling for the "comparisons" look more like the white Australians in terms of facial structure, skin color, ect;

Even with this advert, you see a girl who looks more "half-cast" than Aboriginal, and more like Caucasians than Aboriginals themselves. Of course, she's a rarity, but you can see the trend here. Ashamed of Aboriginals are we?

  • I should also add that while Maddy was chosen for the part she did speak very well & while I dont agree with the message itself she did make it very well

  • A well delivered speech. There's no doubt having a job can make a big difference to living standards - and I think this ad is on the right track in trying to address that. But I think it somehow misses it's target... All businesses - at least the successful ones - will employ the best person for the job regardless of race/skin-color, etc... to do otherwise would give your competitors an advantage. So I'm not really sure what you're asking business to do?

  • aboriginals also keep reminding Australians that the are the originals owners & we invaded - they seem to forget they were also immigrants & invaded the land - this happened over 200 years ago - get over it & move on since it cannot be changed now and the people responsible are long dead. other countries also had this problem & as far as I am aware they have moved on

  • equal rights - I agree thats fair but why do they get more support than the rest of Australia (excluding illegal immigrants) I want a real job & I have to work really hard to get that & everytime I try to improve my job prospects - I am only now going to uni at 36 - aboriginals get more support easier entry than I do why? perhaps if they stop the blame game & just work harder like me they would get somewhere but they dont - I see jobs for aboriginals advertised but never filled cause they dont.

  • everyone know indeginous people face tough challenges ? what a self centred simpleton ,it's simple your born you do with what your got achive goals step up ,harden up ,dont blame other people or races because it's so easy to sook and whinge that's it take the easy road you fairy no matter where your from what race or colour you can achive anything you want to im a 4th generation aboriginal but so what !!

  • @justanapinion If you are 4th generation aboriginal as you put it!! You would know what our people face to be able to achieve their goals!! Any way your either koori or your not there is no percentage!!

  • I commend this young lady for saying it out loud to the world. My step son had a great indigenous friend growing up from pre school age, but when they both hit high school the peer pressure was so strong from the indigenous side that they had to struggle to maintain their friendship which to both their credit they have done and still do to this day. They are now both 27. The effort has to come from both sides though. It takes two to tango after all.

  • @zelpot65 what are you talking about ?peer pressure at high school? for indigenous

  • It breaks my heart to see one so young from a culture with something really important to offer the world calling for REAL jobs, based as they are on property and the idea that we can own the land.

Is there no awareness left of the contradiction between that and her culture's spiritual wisdom that "we are (all) of the land, not owners of the land"?

We need jobs to evolve from the restoration of our natural right to land and our obligations as its caretakers, not its title holders.

  • I just don't get why there is a difference. I've never heard of an aboriginal being treated differently, except that they receive special benefits.

  • When I was young I came from a town on the river, I was a Jackaroo and later a stockman, I wanted to work on a cattle station, so I placed an add in the paper, this station was in South Australia and was huge, the Aboriginies there were much better stockmen than me, so i allways tried to learn from them, i had some realy good mates, at that stage I never come across racism, everyone was an individual, there was no black and white, when I was 21 I moved to Adelaide where racism runs both ways

  • This is a great message.

  • @ 1111Davo1 Did you ever think we quit because your a racist redneck F%$# !!, Our mob is the Original inhabitant's of this great land and we are a minority in our own country!! It was people like you that came to our country stole it from us wrecked havoc on this great land which we are the original custodians of. It flourished under our guardianship till the white fella came along, it was then that plants trees animals started to be come extinct !! So of cause our culture should be learned!!!

  • @thenulanula - i'm not redneck or racist, and i can spell unlike yourself.

Everyone should be treated equally. I dont see any other race or religion getting special benefits so why should they? Get off your asses like the rest of us have to and put some effort in.

  • @1111Davo1 same old response from all redneck racist mofo's "I can spell better then you!!" Well good for you anyway I have more important things to do than wast time on you!!!!!!!!!! An @

matt91gee If my people got anywhere near the funding that gets sent overseas or even the benefits illegal immigrants get! Now that would be something!! Instead we get people like you to with your stupid comments!!!!!!!!!!! oh and 1111Davo! if the spelling doesn't live up to your high standard tough titties

  • @thenulanula nice, you avoided the actual argument.

So what would you like - a) equality, or b) signficantly more funding than any minority group in Australia. You can't choose both. Either way you're expected to be a law abiding citizen. so what is it? a or b?

  • @1111Davo1 Why are you such a Dick if you bothered to read what I wrote you would know I was simply pointing out that people overseas and illegal immigrants get a better deal than my mob the first Australians do It's a myth we get all these handouts. All my people want is the be recognised as the true custodians and traditional owners of Australia and have equal rights as the people who stole our land enjoy!!!! As I stated before I want wast anymore time on you as you are just not worth it!!!!!

  • @thenulanula You have been recognised, rudd said sorry, at the start of most public speeches, they recognise x tribe as traditional owners of this land. What more do you want? Its about time you grow up, accept what happened and move on with your life.

  • @thenulanula So you've been given recognition, now decide (from before when you failed to answer). a) equality, or b) signficantly more funding than any minority group in Australia. You can't choose both. Either way you're expected to be a law abiding citizen. so what is it? a or b?

And, stop trying to compare yourself with illegal immigrants. They are not legal residents, and dont get the same type of government funding

  • @1111Davo1 you poor poor silly little redneck imbecile!! I'm not in anyway shape or form comparing myself with illegal immigrants or anyone else!! Simply pointing out you have no F%$#@*! idea what your talking about!! and I think I have understated myself here!! Through the freedom of information act ask centre link what the detainees are being paid fool!! Then you Apologise to my people for being and ill-informed redneck racist wanker you are!!!!!!!!!!!
