  • Mookie's Last Christmas" is a song written by Saosin's former singer Anthony Green. The lyrics are actually about Justin's father who died in a car accident. It happened on a Christmas tour, hence the title. 'Mookie' is the name of Anthony's dog. The track wasn't on Translating the Name but it was included on a compilation album, A Santa Cause: It's a Punk Rock Christmas.

    This song is a big fan favourite and there has been a lot of discussion about the lyrics.

  • Somebodys a wiki guy. but its about his bro too he died on the same day on the way back from a saosin concert they played 2 shows in 1day. and going back from the 2nd concert they both were in a fatal car accident. to clear things up evan more. That should be it.

  • mookie is the name of anthonys dog. cove didnt join the band until like a year after this song was released. the only version cove ever recorded was an acoustic demo that he sent to saosin as an audition.

    but yeah

    This song is written about justin shekoski's father's death from a car crash.

    Saosin performed twice in on day (Justin's dad's first time seeing them live. and it was around christmas) and his dad and brother got in a fatal car crash on the way to the airport.

    I am pretty sure Cove wrote this, but they recorded it with anthony for a christmas compilation.

  • Anthony sang this song and recorded it. Saosin wrote the lyrics and melodies. Cove recorded a demo version of Mookies Last Christmas and sent it in to Saosin when they were looking for a singer. Beau, Justin and Chris thought it was Anthony Green playing a prank on them, but they soon found out it was Cove after later hiring Cove as their new lead singer

  • well to be technical about it. Saosin wrote the song and i have a few interviews that talk about how green didnt help in writing one saosin song. it says everytime he had an idea they just shot him down

  • tune to drop C (drop D one full step down). the chords are almost power chords (and i dont even know if its right..sounds good to me though). 9/9/9/12, 5/5/5/7, 0/0/0, 7/7/7/9... and then i added in some fifths and sevenths randomly. really not too difficult to play. good luck, if you have any questions ask me
