Great explanation, Marie. The problem is that a lot of PVC-stuff on the market is cheap quality (and made with questionable design...). But in some designer-stores you can find some very good pieces!
It's interesting to see that the latex-market is much bigger and you can get much better designs with excellent quality. I believe that's the reason why I prefer it aswell...
I love creaky sounding leather. Love good PVC outfits, pretty much cheap pvc can be worn a few times before it turns all creased and nasty. But other than that black and shiny is perfect.
Terrible quality PVC in that skirt. It is obviously a material mixture because I have an extensive collection and i have been decieved by looks and feels. Its hard to find great stuff, but I have PVC clothes that do not crease and that are lined. Still...I agree with you. Latex is awesome, and leather is top tier! :)
@ShinyLeatherCanada Yes I do agree, the PVC is crappy quality! I've felt some good quality PVC and it is beautiful but usually a bit on the thicker side; it would be interesting to see PVC properly lined and good quality:) Thank you for the input, I really appreciate that!
@Drahregssor Leather is definitely more durable. PVC is not as sturdy or better wearing than leather with time. PVC might be a bit stiff although lighter in weight. PVC usually doesn't have any lining on the inside making them more prone to wear and tear. All the best finding your trench.
This is so damn helpful, thanks for making this video!
It all started with PVC for me, i was in love with the shiny-ness of it, it all drastically changed when i saw a latex garment up close (back then it wasn't to easy to see someone wearing it even in fetish clubs) because they are so much different, the latex has a totally different sexieri feel and shines more... i get mad when people confuse the two dammit!! I'll be linking and posting this all over to educate people!! =D
@TrainsOfSander I think latex is the white sap that flows from the tree, and within the latex sap is a property of rubber. When the latex sap evaporates or dries out, the rubber remains. People often use these terms exchangeably.
It is so refreshing to see a normal, everyday person share their love and knowledge of latex with us. I am really enjoying your videos. You make them much more personal than most people do. I can't wait to see the rest.
@GetSDiesel Yup, not everyone is extreme or hardcore as latex tends to be portrayed. It can be accessible, fashionable, and sexy all at the same time:) (although I am weird in my own ways:) hehehe)
@ guysmileytoo: your intelligence doesn't seem to be to high, correct? Go back to the swamp where you came from.

I'm saving up for a trench coat and wanted to know what pvc's durability rating is vs leather

Is there a difference between latex and rubber? Or is that the same material?

@BeingMarieT But I don't think they are the same.

@holman26 Will do, but I'm on an artist budget and trying to organize a solo exhibit, making more work; multi-tasking, or trying to at least, lol.
