Simply beautiful...i am a member of a male chorale in Jamaica and i truly enjoy the rich quality of the voices. As a bass singer i was particularly drawn to the bass line...clear and beautiful movements. I just love the arrangement of this old hymn too. God bless you gentlemen, keep on singing for Him

What a joy to find this beautiful version of Wesley's hymn, sung as he would have intended. Youtube is infected with a song that apparently has the same name, but is nowhere near as powerful.

The other "version" is not a new version of Wesley's song. It is a completely different song with totally different words. Only the title is the same.

No, we sing a different version to this song in my Church, I just assumed it was well known.

Ah yes, there is a version that has a different tune to these same words. It is just as reverent (unlike the CCM version), but it takes a voice with some power and range to sing it.

I associate the tune with the duo of Hale and Wilder, but I am not sure if that is the same tune you are talking about.
