  • Not a very coherent discussion. Laptops for kids is the revolutionary new way of governing in Portugal? Tapscott is good observer of what is happening. Doesn't appear to be tuned into the way human behavior is changing.

  • Don Tapscott's vision and research on how millions have leveraged the web to fundamentally overhaul century old industries and develop innovative solutions to business, governments, and our daily lives is truly inspiring. Hopefully his efforts leads to a growing movement of people to help champion the digital revolution.

  • Portugal has a long way to go before changing the paradigm. Its not about data or technology but about rebooting people minds

  • Just one little question...

If Portugal, with a huge deficit just like the US, is using this new method, why isn't the US or the UK -also in dire straits, apparently- are waiting in the side lines? Do I smell a con or am I just being to cynic?

  • Likewise. This approach opens it all up, and can really engage people.

The downside is that it also opens it up to people who are convinced they are right, because"they read it on the Internet". When we open things up like this, we have to learn a whole new language of listening and reasoning. When it comes to climate change, the blogosphere shows us how irrational, nutty and aggressive - some people can be.

We need a wiki world with respect and love, not hostility and hatred.

  • Great interview! Its nice to hear some optimism about the economic/global mess that we're in that is still manages to offer a realistic solution. Very insightful.
