There's a very interesting version of this song done by Recoil (a spinoff of Depeche Mode). The video is a little freaky at points but the arrangement is quite dramatic. I'd recommend checking it out.

I had always said that hip hop started in Gospel. Many people credit James Brown with starting rap music but even he said that it started in Gospel with The Golden Gates. I have a lot of their songs and I got my 20 year old nephew hooked. The song to hear, though, is Handwriting On The Wall. That's the song I got him hooked with. Their vocal percussions were ahead of their time.
