Religion is just making people crazy and making people fight each other... the never ending debate! GOD didn't tell the people to make RELIGION! GOD told the people to follow HIS COMMANDMENTS and SPREAD THE WORD! we need more songs like this :) songs like this now die out and are never heard nor are known by kids like me :) im thankful my dad used to play this and sing this when I was small.. gives the same feeling when you hear Billy Joel's Vienna and Freddy Aguilar's Anak (Son/Child). Sometimes when we're already teenagers, we make decisions and say things we don't want to say to our parents, in the end its still them who will comfort us in the dark...

This song makes me cry because those words of the son makes any child relate to an overbearing parent or family. Especially ones that are never satisfied or no matter how much you achieve or overachieve.

A couple of years back I was goint through a very hard period in my life. My dad is not a man of big words, so he simply gave me a cd of Cat Stevens, and let his voice and lyrics speak to me. And I understood him perfectly. This song is about father and son, but for me it is from my dad to his beloved daughter. It is the most beautiful thing my dad has ever done for me, and it did help me a lot. And every time I hear this I start to cry. It is often the smallest things that matters the most

@Elindri I have loved this song for 30 years.(bet you didn't know it was that old!) Way before I had a child. And then when I had a son, it meant even that much more to me. And your father did the right thing by sending you to this song. I don't think anyone could sum it up better than this.

I listened to this as a teenager.....i'm now 41 and i always thought it was me and my father....means a lot to me this song. My dad is a man of few words too and we fought like cats and dogs when i was a teen....now he is my best friend........cool that another female has this song in their heart of their father....
