Years ago Nana appeared at the Merv Griffith Show, and was asked by him what languages she sings. When she mentioned German, he made fun of it plus a very disparing remark. Nana just looked at him, said that the German language is the most poetic language in the world, and walked off the stage....

@megan1668 Nana sings German like it is her mother tongue. Her heart is made of love. I didn't see that Merv Griffith show, but from your recollection, I think she dealt with bigotry like love does, like a true lady. I admire her even more now!
@megan1668 Even more remarkable in that one of her earliest memories is of Nazi's shooting people in the street in Athens and when she first left Greece it was to Germany to do work for a soundtrack and she was wondering what the Gerlike given what she had seen.

Love German, studied in Karlsruhe in 60's, great way to show that (AMERICAN) is not the only way!!!!!
