@MR2006GXP Sorry you're right. I forgot to mention Long Island, lol. Back when Brooklyn was Brooklyn, Staten Island wasn't even on the map. If you were from Staten Island, you were looked upon as being an imbred from the sticks, let alone New Jersey. Jersey wasn't even a thought. Now look.. the kids of today think that Staten Island and NJ are the spots to be, when in reality, they are just COPIES of Brooklyn.. and remember, a COPY IS NEVER AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL!

I wish I could have been born in the 40's so I could have experienced benhonhurst old school...i would have been like 80 now but at least I would have all memories of the good days!
BadBoy11235...Reliable Pizza? OMG! My mom managed that bakery for MANY years! You would actually probably remember her..she's(til this day) very beautiful! My 3 brothers and I attended St.Mary Mother of Jesus, every Thursday,we each got $1.50 for McDonalds on 25th Ave and so every Friday,it was pizza day! (We wouldn't DARE to eat meat on any Friday all year long! haha)Remember..2 SLICES and a COKE for $1.00 ?! LOL Those were the good ole days with many good memories. Hope you had a Happy Easter!
Diversified is a nice way of saying it, lol. 86st st. is anything but Italian.. just read the store signs (make sure you can read chinese and Russian).
Spinnerdoc ??? LOL.....I hear ya ! Yes, "diversified ! " ha! ha! ha! So.....No more searching for the artichokes and broccolirabe ?? ha ha.....Chow mein noodles and borscht soup ?? LMAO !
Very Cute, I had a good laugh ! How times have changed...time to move on ! No more women in black dresses shopping on 86th Street.... It has become very "diversified"
Too bad Brooklyn, let alone Bensonhurst has changed. Nothing like the song says anymore.. It was like that in the 80's, and started to go down hill in the 90's.. Everyone is in Staten Italy and Jersey now..
Fortunately . . . some of it STILL exists. You have to look a little harder, a good deal has changed . . . but vestigages still survive. I just had Xmas there with family and loved it. Wish more of it were preserved. Happy New Year!

Yea its cute, and probably true, but the spelling is so off. Hate to be a bringdown, but if you went to Bensonhurst, chances are you were taught by nuns. It's Hearse, among many other spelling errors. Buon Natale!
