@myroseclub because unfortunately 99% of the people here only know jamiroquai as "that band who did that song for Napoleon Dynamite" as they pop in their earbuds and listen to some over-produced pretty faced pop who can't sing a lick...but no one knows because of the all-mighty auto-tune. Sad, sad my friend. Don't blame them for not wanting to play here.
Funny thing is, he loves bombing it about in massive expensive cars that eat fuel and belt out smoke doesn't he? And wasn't he into drugs which effectively fund wars through their trade? Don't get me wrong, Jamiroquai has been my favourite group (untill about 2 albums ago anyway) since I was 7 - but this guy shaped up to be a bit of a profiteering hypocrite, did he not?
When steps were formed for me the laughable era of pop began properly and so far with the likes of Cher Lloyd hitting no#1 in the charts it continues. I worry it's a long time till it'll end.
If you hear some james morrison's interviews you will see just how similar he sounds to him....i mean not in the singing...but in the talkin...so alike...and guess waht, stevie wonder is also the hero of james morrison.
This is a great series of interviews so far - why doesn't Jay still talk about this stuff today? Surely its just as relevant, if not more relevant now than it was back then. ??? Apparently with his new album, he is going back to hit roots, does that mean he is gonna start bringing back these political views aswell? Thanks for posting-it's making me think XD
@jamiroquai01fan In an interview Jay said that the band were accused of being prophets of doom and gloom. I guess they then decided to take their lyrics in a more upbeat direction, and subsequent interviews followed suit. Interviews also centred more on Jay, the videos, his style, cars etc. There are a few videos of an early interview where Jay makes some social and political comments in addition to talking about the music. The angry 'young man' revolution.
The business of war is in arms.
The problems are oldskool hierarchy.

Their image was one of party kids, with a real message of warning. Seemed conflicting but in reality it was one of rebellion.
