  • mediocre, good enough for a mediocre piece,,

  • That was incredible. I need to figure out how to match that tone with the gear I have, because I play lead guitar for my church and my tone sounds kind of boring...

  • Hey man .. really nice job. Had I had my eyes closed, I would have sworn you were Lincoln .. easy to see why you won..

  • I'm guessing he was the only one that didn't use a Pod to record this. His tone kills!!!

  • first place for best hair

  • hey dude can you put a tutorial for this solo?

plz... i really love this song and i wanna learn it

  • @mrknolly Lincoln Brewster posted a tutorial for this song when he announced the contest. It's somewhere on youtube.

  • @Genmills bro, could you please email me (Allthatjazz18@gmail.com) the Backing track ? i can't download it from the site anymore. i think they removed it. i am currently practicing for a worship service this week and this song was lined up by the worship leader. the track would be really helpful!! thnx and god bless!!

  • dam this is some awesome stuff. i saw the video where they announce your name and it must be pretty awesome to have that. you've always been my favorite guitar player on youtube by the way

  • gay...

  • @01firefingers HATER!

  • me puedes pasar las tablaturas hahaha blessings from mexico!

  • sleazy song and boring playing. Bravo my friend.

  • I'm kind of wondering, since this is supposed to be Christian music, why did you give the sign of the Evil Eye at the end of your video?

  • dude what the heck man.. i friggin got goosebumps... how dare u melt my face hahaha jk bro Praise God indeed im sure Gods doing them rock fingers lol

  • Awesome playing,praise the Lord!

  • Our worship teams lead guitarist used this as his basis for his solo. great visual and great version of the solo.

  • @LostPilgram Glad I could help! :)

  • 1 person doesn't "get" it!

  • A dislike??? What is there to dislike?

  • By the way, how do you like your Ernie Ball Musicman JP6? I was thinking of getting the standard model with the piezo since the BFR is a bit pricey. :/

  • Immaculate playing and a fantastic tone. Bravo my friend.

  • Top notch!!

  • Great work..This is what inspires me to play. God Bless and keep them coming..

    MrPRSguitar

  • Very good vibrato!! Awesome!!

  • God bless! :) Sweet guitar playing man!

  • @Genmills Awesome!!! thanks for the tip! :)

  • wow, thats all i can say!! ive been playing acoustic for several years now and just started playing electric! i hope one day i can be as good as you dude! if you have any tips on helping me out on electric i'd like to hear!! great job, you well deserved it!! God bless!

  • @tcsballer11 Just remember, "Practice makes PERMANENT!" :) Even if you practice a lot, if you're doing it the wrong way, you're going to keep playing incorrectly! Always start at a slow enough speed that you can play it perfectly. Even if it sounds ridiculously slow, if it's the fastest you can play it right, then that's the right speed to practice.

  • Yes SIR !

  • great.. awesome job.. the glory to God..

  • @miguel4ngel Thanks! And Amen!

  • Great job, dude! You deserved it!

  • Hey I love your tone!! If you could PLEASE tell me your settings on your roadster amp head and the carbon copy!!! This is flawless!!!

  • that was a Great! Clean. Super vibrato!!! Love the octaves.

  • AmAZING

  • Killer job man!!! Like the devil horns at the end...lol was that pre-recorded?

  • THAT WAS AWESOME do you play for church?

  • You play so cool dude! :D good work! =)

  • @ 0:36

    what is that sign?

    anyway perfectly done!

  • @sidogregie That would be the "rawkfist"

  • that second to last little note... yep that one. that one did it for me, that one was the kicker. that was it right there :) congrats on the win, you deserved it

  • good job but the tone on that guitar is like a nintendo 64 game. dont like sound at all.

  • faultless

  • the part from 0:00 to 0:43 is amazing good work

  • Time for some new comments, so I'll get things started....outstanding job!

  • That was amazing! And so was the background music! haha Lincoln should totally have you record as a guest guitar on his CD's!

  • @zwgrad09 Thanks! That would be awesome haha!

  • Congrats! I thought you might win, well deserved. When is your online lesson with Lincoln? Or did you do it already? Let us know how that went...I'm sure we'd all be interested. We need another contest, maybe the "all to you" live solo? Thanks again for your encouraging words on my post, the speed is slowly coming, but just love doing those bends though!

  • @fishmank27 Thanks! I still have to hear from them on when we are doing the online lesson... It will great, though!

  • That's really good! Awesome . . .

  • hey dude, whats the prize of winning? a pod Hd maybe?

  • CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING!

oh and i love the new vid xD

  • Ok, I lied to the grand prize winner and said I didn't even need to watch anymore and he deserved to win. No wonder Lincoln and team had so much trouble picking winners. That was pure amazing! I'm watching it again.

  • @121jigawatts I like your name :)

  • @Genmills .....and I like your guitar playing!

  • did you have any tab on the song? or all by ear?

  • @geraldwp By ear. Lincoln had a video where he showed how to play a few parts, but I didn't use that since I wanted to be note for note off of the album version. :)

  • Winner...hands down. Nicely done!

  • Very good! Love it! I want to enter some day if Lincoln Brewster does it again. Anyway, your solo was very good! -SP

  • Thanks everybody! I really enjoyed viewing all the entries. I'm sure Lincoln had a hard time deciding the winners. There are a lot of great guitarists out there. We all come out of the woodwork when we see these contests!!

  • Congrats...and good job by all. Was great to hear all of the talent out there!

  • Very nice!!!!

  • congrats!

  • Great ! Job ! Congrad !

  • just as i predicted...congrats man

  • YOU WON

  • Nice playing dude !!

Is your hair for real ??

  • great solo bro! praise God!

  • A little sharp on the big "22nd fret" note, but by far the best tone & copy of the solo I've heard/seen thus far. Kudos. Oh, and shave teh 'stache peach fuzz. ;)

  • Soooo....did I miss something? is there a winner in the contest? Where was/will it be announced?

  • i used the same intro :) Windows Movie Maker ftw.

  • @JustShred015 Haha, nice! Good cover you have, too, by the way. I think fewer people attempted the original solo because it was too hard... or maybe we are doorknobs and aren't creative enough to make our own... :)

  • @Genmills haha yeah maybe the second one...for me at least. I kinda goofed the octave weird picking thingy (idk what you call it) in my video but it's alright. I don't care too much about Lincoln's contest I just wanted to throw that video out there b/c we play that song in our worship band at church and i gotta know that solo so i figured what the heck.

  • teach me!!!!

  • hey mann where are you from its 4proximity again looking for a guitarist you look and play the part we go to vegas this may for a show case to be the next big thing you have the skill and could write some good solo's to our music we have now contact us through our channel and get more info on 4proximity

  • cool ....dude ...........nice gtr

  • I have to agree with juan.

  • dude you are going to win! ... this is the best ive heard... god bless you

  • Hey! I didn't know you entered haha, great take on the solo. I think you are the only one who really nailed that "Lincoln meets Eric Johnson" feel. haha great job!

  • Nice. I like this one. You look happy doing it too (unlike some stiffs - like me). I entered too. ; )

  • @GuitarMusicTheoryTab I think I had my fair share of painful faces too! :) Haha, but I'm enjoying it every second believe me!

  • I love using the more silent ends of delay, it adds that nice flow sounds to the rythm channel of a guitar! You have such a great ear for what sounds good and what doesn't haha. Man, I'm still trying to work on fixing up my Cubase software for recording! That and I don't even know what I want to record haha. I want to start doing solos like you do here and there videos, but I just can't figure out which one!

  • @Ziece4 Thanks! As long as you don't pick anything too difficult, it's actually pretty easy to record videos at a decent rate. I just get lazy sometimes and that's why there's a lot of time between videos. :O Hope to see your videos soon!

  • Great job! Any chance you can post one for Lincoln's song "So Good?"

  • nice man! check out my entry if you get a chance :D

    Peace!

  • Great Job on the solo.....

  • hahaha nice hair man!!

    sweet solo

  • Well done! Best I've seen of the original so far, runs were just as clean as Lincoln.

  • man, i love this. your guitar sound is amazing! and your playing is so fluent. rock on!!! \m/

  • I think you pretty much nailed it!

  • That was an awesome cover ;p

i got petrucci's cover too , it would be really appreciated if you will give me your opinion ;p

    ROCK ON !

  • You killed it!

  • This rocks! good job!

  • you are back!!! and look so different!!! awesome playing always!!!

  • This is a real good times solo :D

  • keep rocking man U R AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cracking playing. That guy is a genius

  • awesome man just fucking great

  • @lance9421 Really? On a cover of a worship musician?

  • @zachpfeif yea the solos r just awesome

  • @zachpfeif Whats the matter with covering a Worship musician? the man has great talent on the guitar (Brewster). especially if you look at hi single "Let Your Glory Shine"..

  • @sharkbaitOO7 He was commenting on what someone else had said, not on the video. But you're absolutely right! :)

  • Awesome as usual.

  • sweet vid, glad to see your back, i have 2 questions

    1. how many guitars do you have and what are they

    2. do you think that maybe possibly you could do a cover of sacrificed sons by dream theater?

  • @PositivelyInsane Thanks!

    1. I have this one, plus my Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat, which is tuned to drop B or something right now. I'll have to break that out some time... I also have a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe for when I play acoustic stuff.

    2. Anything is possible... and more Dream Theater songs are very possible!! :) But it takes a long time to learn something Petrucci plays! He's the man!... and so is Lincoln Brewster! lol

  • gee sweet tone and solo :O

And yeah... you're probably OVER 9000 NOW!

  • your a man now!

  • from the 2007 you changed alot. now youre over9000 times more awesome than you've been ;D

  • @liczkos Over 9000?!?! There's no way that can be!! :)

  • @Genmills according to my scouter...the level of awesomeness of this solo is most definatly over 9000

  • @Genmills VEGETA IT'S OVER 9,000!

  • AWESOME!
